Alaska's Western Arctic is one of the largest, most biodiverse tracts of public land in the United States.

Yet the Trump admin. just greenlit a plan to destroy it with bulldozers and 95,000-pound "thumper trucks."

The Center and allies sued to stop it.

We can thank "all-of-the-above" policies that promote carbon capture, direct air capture, bioenergy, and nuclear for part of the slow U.S. pace.

What is clear is that 100% WWS after electrification is not only possible, but it is the only solution in the time we have.
New paper:

China's current rate of Wind-Water-Solar (WWS) installations puts it on a trajectory to transition to 100% WWS across all energy sectors by 2051

US & India won't get there until past 2130

"The big lie behind the PolluterPage’s fossil fuel nonsense here is that clean energy is more expensive. It’s not. It’s less expensive than fossil fuel, even with all fossil fuel’s massive subsidies. Just look at the “generation stack” of any grid operator.

It’s important to remember that fossil fuel proponents aren’t just creating a climate crisis threatening the livable atmosphere, they’re also pushing a more expensive form of energy than what is available with renewables.

Big Oil is selling the promise of “low-carbon data centers” using carbon capture, reports @emdashsanders.bsky.social.

But these plans could "easily transform into a sprawling build-out of high-polluting methane gas infrastructure" with lasting impacts to "the climate and communities nearby."
Exxon’s new greenwashing ploy
The oil giant claims it can eliminate more than 90 percent of emissions from gas-powered AI facilities. Critics say that’s nonsense.
