Huzzah! New job! I am honored to join Jersey City Mayor-elect James Solomon's administration as Communications Director.

Transparent, honest, and timely governance with the ability to tell good stories about the people of Jersey City.

Let's build a Jersey City government as good as its people!
“This cruelty will not be contained,” Solomon said. “We have already seen American citizens detained, teargassed, and pepper-sprayed. In Jersey City, we choose a different path. We choose to protect everyone, including immigrants.”

Excellent Tim Miller.

A reshuffle of the faces in charge, and one guy leaving isn't even the beginning of being enough. We need ICE and CPB out of Minnesota. And we need fundamental changes in the behavior of ICE everywhere.

❄️If you're in the Jersey City/NYC Metro area, please be extra careful outside this morning. When walking my dog, I slipped a few times on the sidewalk. Give yourself extra time!

My sense is they learned from a movie, not training.
4. Tourniquet use is the most basic aspect of combat first aid. Any minimally trained soldier should know how to apply one. The only way to fuck up this badly is that you never really tried to learn.

Timeline: How the Shooting of Alex Jeffrey Pretti Unfolded
A moment-by-moment analysis of video from the scene shows that Mr. Pretti was already restrained when fatal shots were fired, which appears to contradict the federal government’s account of the event.

Alex Pretti was an ICU nurse serving veterans. He died trying to protect protestors being assaulted. A group of anonymous & masked men fired chemicals into his face, beat him, disarmed him, and shot him in broad daylight in front of witnesses. Then his government smeared him & defended his murder.

Fascinating that they don’t show any pictures of the Nazi outfit this coat is being compared to. They do show General MacArthur (also insane but not a Nazi) |When a Coat Becomes a Symbol of Conflict www.nytimes.com/2026/01/22/s...

I really struggle with these cases, because the failure that day was on the entire public safety apparatus... not one person.

There would be no conceivable reason to handle the policy this way it they really believed it were legally defensible.
A whistleblower says the memo authorizing these irregular entries was handled in a hush-hush manner, being given to a subordinate to read, for example, on condition that it be handed back to a supervisor waiting there on the spot with no copy kept. That sounds like consciousness of guilt to me. /3
