ALBERTA: Bill 11 makes healthcare more expensive for everyone by introducing a two-tier system ⚠️

It lets doctors mix public and private work, giving faster access to people who pay while everyone else waits longer.

Visit NoTwoTier.ca to advocate against this and FOR Universal Public Healthcare.
URGENT – Stop Premier Danielle Smith’s Plan to End Universal Healthcare

1/ This may look like “just one story” to many, not a dataset, but it crystallizes a pattern that far too many families are bumping into: when the system cannot explain a young person's symptoms, it downgrades them to lifestyle, instead of upgrading the level of curiosity.

@jamapediatrics.com Publishing lifestyle-based pediatric reviews without considering children affected by COVID Infections- including those living unknowingly with Long COVID- it creates an incomplete and potentially unsafe narrative.

Alberta’s public health care is under attack. Premier Smith wants doctors in both public and private systems — a fast lane for the wealthy, longer waits for everyone else.
Our system is already strained. Sign the petition. 💙

Further to CLCN's communication with the CBC Ombudsman re: Oct interview w Gill Deacon, I am sharing our response back to CBC. To all my fellow Canadian parents know that CLCN will not let this go unresolved.

Why did CBC’s Feb 2025 segment on rising school absenteeism not mention COVID [email protected] Interviewed the Canadian School Attendance Partnership: grp led by psychologists/psychotherapists who continue to frame a medical crisis in kids as a mental-health issue.

🚩This was recently shared with us by a parent and it's deeply disturbing. It appears that this hospital has a troubling pattern in its approach to children living with complex illnesses. Also reportedly being separated from parents for extended questioning- serious ethical & safeguarding concerns.

To my fellow Canadian parents with children living with Long COVID: the Children's Long COVID Network submitted a complaint to the CBC Ombudsman. Please consider sending your own personal letters to CBC to amplify our collective voice.

@cbcnews.ca @cbcnews-mirror.bsky.social Canadians living w Long COVID, especially children, deserve responsible journalism, not "braining training" pseudoscience on National TV. Whoever endorsed this should be ashamed. Appalling, @ianhanomansing.bsky.social. Complaint escalated to the CBC Ombudsman
@gilldeacon.bsky.social Respecting your courage in speaking on your Long COVID journey, but promoting a "recovery" narrative based on psychological and mind-body interventions in your CBC interview of Oct 26th gravely misrepresented Long COVID in public discourse.
Thoroughly disappointed in this LC media coverage that aired Oct 26, 2025 on CBC Canada completely misrepresents this life altering illness…extremely harmful.

Need community advocates to share far and wide & also reach out to CBC. 1/2

Strong & credible study. Issue is when national outlets like @ctvnews-mirror.bsky.social keep turning to @isaacbogoch.bsky.social as the "default expert" even outside his field. This catch-all authority flattens complex science and sidelines those with real expertise.

@spichaksimon.bsky.social thank you for holding @ianhanomansing.bsky.social CBC accountable on this. They have a lot to answer on this.
It's deeply disappointing when a National broadcaster watched by millions undermines its own credibility.
In a statement, CBC told me:

"After reviewing the interview, we concluded that it needed to be re-edited and re-posted to include further context and questions around the procedure and treatment Deacon experienced. That has now been done."

Will update the story with this soon.
Earlier this week, the CBC broadcast an interview with Gill Deacon, discussing her Long COVID recovery using brain retraining.

They didn't tell you the specific brain retraining program, the Lightning Process, has been accused of exploiting patients.

Powerful piece by a pediatrician reminding us of a truth often neglected by Canadian school systems: accommodations aren't privileges-they are rights. Equity means meeting children where they are- but for those with complex illnesses like Long COVID, it often isn't.

Day 2 reflections: "Who is driving and who is the passenger"- Symptoms don't exist in isolation; they collide, overlap, and amplify each other. For those living with ME/CFS, LC, managing life is about navigating the unpredictable system when the "driver" role constantly shifts
This is not just a conference. It's a meeting of scientific minds who are genuinely bridging the gap between lived experience & scientific inquiry.
