Outspoken views on Children's Long Covid/Post Covid Illness, research, care, and treatment.
❣️Parents: Believe your child. New or worsening physical symptoms after infection are a red flag. You are a stakeholder in your child’s health.
🚩Clinicians: reopen the differential and consider multi-system disease, not just burnout or anxiety.

2/ Not all “burnout” is burnout 3/ When symptoms keep evolving after COVID, that’s a medical red flag, not “just stress.” 4/ “Am I going to die?” from a young person is, not drama. It's not psychological, not burnout, not lifestyle advice wrapped in concern.

3/ CLCN would like to send sets of warming mitts & booties for Canadian children (10-17), whose families may not be able to buy these right now. This is not a program, not a charity, or initiative- just a quiet gesture from one parent to few others.

2/ Alongside, we wanted to offer something small, personal. As many of you know, my teen daughter has been living with LC for 5 yrs. She has been using Warm Buddies (www.warmbuddy.com) - comfort items to help her through cold intolerance, PEM, sensory overwhelm, and pain.

Post COVID changes such as altered autonomic function, reduced exercise tolerance, and PEM fundamentally shift how some children respond to daily- life and activity. When these realities are overlooked, broad lifestyle guidance becomes misleading. @jamapediatrics.com

Guidance must reflect today's Post COVID physiology, not pre-pandemic assumptions. @jamapediatrics.com

Dual practice risks pulling doctors into private clinics, weakening public care and fueling inequality. We built universal health care once.

Cannot have these types of segments promoted on National TV that will further allow our kids to be pushed into misdirected or inappropriate care. They deserve accurate, evidence-informed reporting and protection from harmful narratives. @cbcnews-mirror.bsky.social @cbcnews.ca

Yes. The issue in Canada is psychiatrists are unable to accept that there is a difference between neurocognitive & neuropsychiatric. This has created havoc for children because COVID infections are defining a health crisis that's across all organs in the body.

@mattgalloway.bsky.social You don't blame anxiety, bullying and school avoidance to this issue. There are thousands across the country that are actually sick. This misclassification erases post-viral illnesses like Long COVID, ME/CFS, repeated infections, real biomedical factors driving sch absence

This misclassification is harming kids! How do you @cbcnews.ca @mattgalloway.bsky.social cover a 5 year rise in absenteeism without a single mention of COVID, Long COVID, Repeated infections, or the collapse of ventilation standards in schools? Children are NOT avoiding school.
