Because right now it's the smallest, most crowded selfie wall in the world lmao. And if you moved from that floor, the rest of the museum was basically empty! We had whole rooms to ourselves on the second floor, with amazing and beautiful paintings I've never seen before.

... all while people knock you in the head with their phones to snap a picture. And this was on a weekday in October! I can only imagine how bad the whole room must be on the weekend in the summer when even more people go there on vacation. It sure can't be easy to manage a gigantic museum...

So we went to the Louvre for the first time and it was... an ✨experience✨, both over- and underwhelming at the same time. Seeing the Mona Lisa means throwing yourself into a relentless moshpit at the end of which you get a glimpse at a maybe A3 sized painting from 3-4 meters afar ...
