As the second man entered, Byleth’s chest fluttered and her throat felt hoarse. His slick blonde hair was tied in a half-ponytail, and he wore an eyepatch on his right eye. She couldn't stop gazing at his soft facial features, and his one open eye gleamed like a sapphire in the firelight. That must be Duke Blaiddyd, she was certain. Byleth had heard of how handsome he was, but that felt like an understatement after seeing him in person for the first time.

“I’m writing my will,” he mumbled, his brow furrowed.
“Your will?” Byleth asked. “But you already have one?”
He frowned. “The one I made after getting married? That one’s no longer any good. Back then, I didn’t have any children—”
“But you wrote on that will that you wanted all your possessions to be split between your children and your spouse, isn’t that enough?”
“It’s fine for a personal will,” Dimitri said without rising his eye to look at her. “But now that our eldest son is almost old enough to inherit without a regent, I need to make sure the succession is clear. A King of Faerghus started a succession war between his sons by not making a will before dying.”
“I see…” Byleth said, though she wasn’t entirely convinced that the morning after his birthday was the best day to think about work.

I'm a late bloomer to FE3H, joining the fandom in 2023. Byleth and Dimitri won my heart from the minute he called their smile mesmerizing. I love imagining them with a big, loving, family, which is what they deserve and more!

Excerpt from "Bitten by the Green-Eyed Monster"
Something clicks inside of Byleth at this. To know that he needs her as much as she needs him is like a symphony to her ears. She spent two days nearly bleeding out in fear that she had lost him for a second time and that she wasn't enough. Now, she doesn't think about the foolish events of tomorrow or the impending climax of the war, but about the man who has shed his deepest insecurities and desires in front of her.
Her voice is faster than her mind.
"I love you, Dimitri."
And she swears she heard the snap of his willpower break as his lips crash into hers. It is as easy as breathing to kiss him despite the little amount of oxygen it gives. His mouth fits perfectly on her own, moving in unison to fill each crease and part as if Sothis shaped them both to eventually become one.
