We are living in a chaotic political time. It will not be calm soon. To allies who want an inclusive, just America: We need you in the months to come, not just now. Be confident in what you know. Remember to take care of your mental health. Take a day off. Breathe. Stretch. Think. Rebuild. Return.
Who is running the White House?
O'DONNELL: Why did you pardon Changpeng Zhao?

TRUMP: Are you ready? I don't know who he is

O'DONNELL: His crypto exchange Binance helped facilitate a $2b purchase of World Liberty Financial's stablecoin. And they you pardoned him.

TRUMP: Here's the thing -- I know nothing about it
A majority of Christians across every denomination voted for this. Sure, the people who actually did this are more narrow. But a majority of my fellow churchgoing Catholics voted for this reign of terror. Sad, but true.
When you see the desperate people suffering who have lost their food supply, remember one thing:

Christians did this. Intentionally.

Trump and his Mar-a-Lago “friends” can party like it’s the Roaring Twenties while tens of millions of Americans face hunger from cut food assistance. But we remember what happened to that “immune” bunch in 1929.
“My girlfriend lives in Canada.”
Mike Johnson talks about the Republican "healthcare plan" like it's highly classified information: "We're not gonna be on a conference call explaining all our plans and strategies for healthcare reform, because they're leaked in real time."
I understand that mayors and governors need to make triumphant and inspirational speeches. But Mayor Wu's speech about BPS is not tied to reality, and has nothing concrete or bold to get at the real problems, some of which can't be fixed by mayors. #bospoli

dickerson is one of the best broadcast journalists in the game, and someone who would clearly be a real asset to a new leader interested in strengthening the network's journalism. but, of course, we know weiss isn't actually interested in journalism as such.

Uh…. You can pursue what you want but… maybe what *you think* isn’t going to be that important
Former Mayor Rahm Emanuel said Thursday a decision on whether to pursue the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination comes down to whether he thinks he can meet “both the challenge and the promise of tomorrow” and execute on it.
Rahm Emanuel points to record, trust with Republicans as he considers presidential bid
Former Chicago mayor and Japan ambassador Rahm Emanuel said at a City Club of Chicago luncheon he needs to have something unique to say and know he can execute on it to run for president.

As it has now been illegally destroyed, let me say that I liked the East Wing of the White House. I have been there four times in my life.

If we ever are allowed to elect another president who opposes this fascism, I hope it is restored in some way.

All of the Clinton-era conservative pearl clutching about the sanctity of the White House and the Democrats’ disrespect seems like it’s from another world now.

There was a whole scandal because Al Gore made fundraising calls from inside the building. They investigated the Clintons’ cat!
I'm old enough to remember when Republicans claimed to believe that the White House was such sacred space that getting a blow job in the Oval Office was grounds to remove a president from office.
How ridiculous for the Globe editorial board to go deep into the Newton school committee races, delve into education issues where they have taken clear positions in the past, and then just throw up their hands at the end about the obvious choices. #mapoli www.bostonglobe.com/2025/10/22/o...
Candidates offer two distinct paths for Newton School Committee - The Boston Globe
The majority of the board will turn over in the November election, giving voters a big opportunity to weigh in on the city’s schools.

Media outlets who refuse to describe in plain terms what the president did because they find it objectionable are lying to their audiences and running cover for the president. It's as simple as that.
The president of the United States posted a video of him defecating on the American people. Many in my profession normalized it. This is a big reason why we are where we are.

Reminder: We spent YEARS reading thousands and thousands of articles on the Tea Party and how it was a true expression of the American people's will, and it never mounted anything nearly as big as Saturday's No Kings rallies. [1/3]

Remember April 2009 when about 250,000 people took to America’s streets in Tea Party rallies and the media was like “oh man, the Dems are in trouble?” Approximately 28X as many people took to the streets to protest Trump yesterday. Didn’t even make the NYT front page.
In April of 2009 I observed the Tea Party rally in Salem. As this front page story says, there were a couple hundred people there. This past weekend in Salem there were roughly 2-3000 people at the Hands Off rally. Yet the Tea Party coverage seemed to take that event far more seriously.

It is a scandal totally unprecedented in history that the Vice President has shared a video depicting the President as king. It’s an obscene violation of every founding American principle.

And nothing will come of it. It makes me physically sick.

Pritzker: Throughout history we've learned that tyranny doesn't arrive with dramatic proclamations. Most times it comes quietly wrapped in the language of law and order, with fingers pointed at someone who doesn't look like you, promising safety while demanding that we sacrifice our neighbors.
