I think if Canada wants to have a strong cultural identity we need to go back to doing what we're best at, making the weirdest fucking TV shows you've ever seen

How A Campy 1970s Game Show Became Part Of Canada's National Lexicon | Defector
On tiny Hornby Island northwest of Vancouver, after the Women’s World Cup in the summer of 2015, our bed-and-breakfast host was telling us about the town. The pizza place in the park is terrific, he s...

Can’t wait for the next recycled hockey man to take over Canucks management who has the answer this time so this team can be mediocre at best and unwatchable at worst for another decade

We need a better geographical characterization of Alberta and Saskatchewan because when there is reference to “western Canada” it almost never means Canada’s westernmost province.
As frustration in Western Canada deepens over decisions handed down from Ottawa, one writer says the country’s survival may depend on scattering the federal government far beyond the capital’s bubble. https://macleans.ca/politics/how-to-fix-western-alienation/
How to Fix Western Alienation - Macleans.ca
Ottawa feels out of touch. Spreading the federal government across the country would rebuild trust.

The bad news is that it’s going to take six weeks for my ankle to fully heal the good news is my upper body will get jacked in the meantime right???

Love to be absolutely getting my ass kicked in my fantasy hockey match up today where I couldn’t possibly beat this person in every category but they still add and drop a bunch of players on Sunday morning. Like you can’t win any more than you already are? lol

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, I particularly want to stress that the violence we talk about trans people experiencing isn't just murder or domestic abuse or assault.

There is also legislative violence—far too much of it. And we lose lives to that every year too.
The Alberta government putting out a statement for Trans Day of Remembrance two days after using the Notwithstanding Clause to override trans kids rights feels like parody at this point

"Our government remains a dedicated partner of transgender Albertans.”

Why does the media give the Canadian taxpayers association so much airtime? We didn’t even vote them in and most of their whining is partisan bullshit.

i think if you want to have those disgusting LED headlights on your car, you should have to do a test where they blast you point blank with your own headlights and then you have 15 seconds to successfully complete some sort of vision-based task, and if you can't do it they push your car off a cliff

I love this idea:

“anytime a billionaire is asked for public comment on anything, someone with < $1,000 in the bank should get equal time to offer a rebuttal.”
In this week's newsletter I wrote about losing a parent (to bad politics) and good tv shows and the billionaires who pretend they're going to leave a city if their taxes go up by an amount that will never make their lives worse.

That justification makes me feel like the nhl dept of player safety is just a bunch of annoying older brothers
As per @dhaliwalsports.bsky.social on "X" regarding Hronek taking an elbow to the head. Absolute joke and shows that the Department of Player Safety does not care about player safety.

This absolutely sucks. Daniel is an excellent writer and PITB is some of the best Canucks reporting around
Yesterday morning, I was informed that Vancouver Is Awesome no longer wishes to have Canucks coverage on its website and that I, effectively immediately, was out of a job.
