OH I FIGURED IT OUT
What I was trying to do I was able to do with ds_lists.
Turned out I just needed to create a new copy of the first instance in the least at the bottom of the list, and delete the original one from the top of the list.
Not somethin' I woulda thought of, but it works!!

I've got a lot to learn and testing some stuff out, but I'm kind of at loss if I should be trying an idea out using enums, strutcs, dslists, etc., while also using it as an excuse to practice learning how these all work. @w@
