A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

That quote alone is disqualifying for any real arts and culture voter. There is no culture in this robot artslop. Just fund the arts orgs already downtown. They are struggling. Give ‘em money to make something meaningful and good.

I remember in Sunday school we were taught the rainbow was God’s promise to take care of people after the big flood. They really hate their god, I guess? (Tearing up God’s promise also seems to echo the destruction of FEMA and any promise of governmental disaster relief after FL’s next hurricane.)

Signalgate 2.0, this time not about plans for attacking Houthis in Yemen, but sending the 82nd Airborne to Portland, Oregon

this is wild: while Stephen Miller's guy was in Minnesota for his uncle's funeral, somebody was able to see his entire phone and take pictures of his Signal group chats talking about military deployments to Portland, and brought them to the Strib (gift link: www.startribune.com/trump-offici...)

This CVB album is in my personal top four for the year, and probably was regularly played by me more than any of the others at the top of the list in the years between then and now. I’m sure its not for everyone but I’d argue its the bands artistic peak. Vote CVB!

Making fragile trump walk up some stairs is an assassination attempt.

1) Yes. I agree. 2) You just endorsed Bruce Harrell for Seattle Mayor... you should reconsider that. He is less popular and less good at his job than you might think. You know what it takes to be a mayor, and Katie Wilson also has what it takes in a way that thin-skinned and shouty Harrell does not.

Thoughts and prayers for the next period of preventable mass deaths, I guess. “Pro Life” my ass. So glad I got double vaxxed on Monday ahead of this nonsense.

Started volunteering at that station while still in HS. Someone had gotten them on the Wax Trax list and suddenly my life was flooded with industrial cut-out records I wouldn’t have heard otherwise… That sudden aesthetic revelation became the entry point to cooler friends and mix tape swaps.

No local record store in rural IN town. No cable TV at home. But so many reviews read from the magazine section at the public library, plus Columbia record club, plus late night shows from local collage station (classical during day, college rock after 10pm). 1/2

If it’s not his signature then there are a lot of exec orders we can just plain ignore since the same forged pubic hair scroll adorns them all.

Um, apparently someone drew a patch of sharpied pubic hair over the top of those young children? Gross.

The posted meme is about a war movie filled with delusional madmen. Also remembering that T quote from the Stern show that venereal disease was his personal Vietnam. And further remembering that the US humiliatingly lost in Vietnam.

How about III through VIII? Six, but trimmed at both ends.

He wasn’t a real financier, disgraced or otherwise. That’s pretend. Stick with with sex offender and maybe mention “best friend of the president”
