Looks like somebody applied to multiples of these but was turned down each time! @radianthostility.bsky.social

The Ivies have had %-acceptance rates in the teens and lower for decades; what made him think he deserved to beat those odds?
The Ivy's, as a social and cultural institution, must be purged.

Other Harvard alumni:

FDR: savior of US economy, of Free World
Helen Keller: blind, deaf, rights advocate
Ruth Bader Ginsburg: SCOTUS women's rights advocate
Noam Chomsky: political activist

I do wonder if AI will lead to a further bifurcation of education, where people who intrinsically desire deep engagement will be studying in a different way from others.
The kids in Fake disciplines like history are plowing their way through an 800 page Adam Tooze book. What do you think the coursework is for this: news.asu.edu/20250924-uni...

@lemlist.bsky.social "As a European company, many of our customers were still paying in USD ..."

How is it that many of your customers are "a European company" - I don't understand!

... unless the explanation is that your copywriter is unaware of elementary EN grammar

Russ here thinks Harvard is some sort of hedge fund! (Um ... why don't you just ask the Trustees?)

How CAN one be so out-of-it, so ignorant of how the (academic) world works? One thing's for sure: he himself never came CLOSE to having any association with this university
I can't decide whether this is:

"Harvard's a hedge fund that owns a university as a loss leader, and they refuse to take a big annual hit"

or

"Harvard thinks the Trump cuts are going to be permanent"

This deluded person gets SO MUCH of his/her news from SocMedia that s/he seems unaware that, in fact, Harvard has been at the forefront of refusing/resisting Trump's university aggrandizements
Well, they did decide to become Trump University after all

UK voters addicted to touching that stove
And yet, and yet. Courtesy of @electionmaps.uk, here's the latest nowcast with a RefUK overall majority of 12. A lot of the case I'm making here makes that *more* likely, not less. So e.g.:
(1) Frustration at complexity
(2) The Brexit that was never tried
(3) Angry 30% just enough to win (1/2)

@linkedin.com Hey yo, LinkedIn - I am f*cking TIRED of removing the "Remembered Devices" I seem to accumulate (completely against my will: I am never asked!) every time I visit your site!
You want me to visit your site - am I correct about that? So FIX this sh*t

@alphaville.ft.com Yes, the FT is informative, but also very expensive!

For on-the-margin subscribers, shouldn't what we see below (i.e. how hard you make it to cancel a subscription) push us over to the "No, I think I won't" side? bsky.app/profile/feli...
