Historical perspective matters when evaluating where we are re: speaking out abt abuse. These artifacts are from the 80s/90s when I began doing media. We've come a long way. Brown U has my papers from that era, and will receive many more items such as these. #CSA #DV #IPV #Media #History
A bookshelf with three major items -- a pass for "Hour Magazine" TV program that I appeared on in 1987, A "Reserved for Press" sign from Senate Judiciary Committee that I arranged for a survivor, and a CNN coffee mug from one of my several appearances during the 90s. These items will go to Brown University Hay Library with many other papers and artifacts that they acquired to document the childhood abuse survivor movement.

One disabled Marine veteran has not had a primary care doctor assigned to him since his previous doctor left in the winter, his wife said. The VA “was never like this before. There’s a lack of staff, empty rooms, locked doors.”

We’ve known for forever that they don’t think gendered violence is a really serious thing but it’s still wild to hear them say it so plainly.
Q: This has been reported for a while. Cory Mills was accused of beating a girlfriend in his DC apt. Are you concerned about these allegations?

JOHNSON: You have to ask Rep. Mills about that. He's been a faithful colleague. I don't know the details. Let's talk about things that are really serious
Yeah, people really shouldn’t mess with Nancy…. There’s a reason she’s been maligned so much by the GOP. I think she’s a walking masterclass on how to lead.
Good conservative Christian values at work — lies after lies….while protecting pedophiles.
Clearly itching to get people hurt or worse for exercising their first amendment rights.
Mike Johnson: "I don't think it will end before the Hate America Rally on the Mall on Saturday, where all the Marxists and antifa people and all the people who hate Trump and hate America will be there."
I’m old enough to recall the formation of pregnancy loss support groups where women who suffered miscarriage were offered comfort — not criminal charges. Pathetic.
Women across the US are facing criminal charges for miscarrying—this is what "fetal personhood" looks like.
Color me shocked. Fine conservative values on display there!

Every time something like the GOP chat leak occurs I hear smart people arguing that shame could be a useful tactic. But shame only works if the bad actors think their actions are bad. Hypocrisy, shame, these Victorian-ish norms are just that, norms, guardrails, and they don't work against fascism.

The GOP divisiveness and slander continues. Why? Release the Epstein files!!
Bring as many American flags to No Kings as you can.
Scalise refers to No Kings as the "Hate America Rally"
Oppression of anyone who is isn’t white, male, heterosexual has been the M.O. for so long. The dog-whistles have been deafening and they are getting louder!!

I just checked and this is real. It's on Border Patrol's official Instagram (I don't see it on Facebook) and is being celebrated by Nazis on Twitter, as you can see in the screenshot.

The clip is just 13 seconds long too, so it's a very intentional thing. We've got a Nazi government.
Twitter account: Uncensored @HmanQuotes1945: Official border patrol Facebook page is posting with the banned lyrics of Michael Jackson's song.
"Jew me sue me... Kick me k*ke me."

The official government account for DHS appears to be run by far-right trolls deliberately trying to provoke a response by using a term openly associated with ethnic cleansing. They will attack anyone who points this out and express faux outrage at the suggestion. They know what they are doing.
Remigration Wikipedia Page.

Not to be confused with Return migration.
Remigration is an originally European far-right proposal of ethnic cleansing via the mass deportation of non-white immigrants and their descendants, sometimes including those born in Europe, to their place of racial ancestry.
It is popular especially within the Identitarian movement. Some proponents of remigration suggest excluding some persons with non-European background from such a mass deportation, based on a varyingly defined degree of assimilation into European culture.

I've been going through the papers of literal neo-Nazis from the 1960s this week and while they believed everything these little twerps do, they had the good sense not to write most of it down.
I’m glad someone else here is old enough to remember the many ways in which the GOP has tried to erode advances in civil rights. All while cloaked in Christianity and carrying a cross!
Remember, friends, the underpinnings of the Maga movement are the naked racism and hatred toward patriotic Black Americans. From Nixons's/Republicans southern strategy to the Tea Party and now to Maga and the rise of Trump. Racism is the be all and in all of their existence.

There was no Black member of Congress in SC from 1893 until Clyburn in 1992. Tomorrow, the Trump Admin is urging the Court to strike down the 1982 provisions to the Voting Rights Act that made the dilution of the Black vote illegal. Pay attention.

The fact there’s a man in our White House who constantly expresses his hatred for half of the country and makes clear his desire to strip away programs supported by Democrats should tell millions & millions why they need to be a part of the No Kings protest if they still believe in America.
I hope to see you and hubs there. The cremains of my brother, SIL and sister who all died in the past 2 yrs are being interred that day and I’m not going to MI for the service. I plan to do what they’d want instead — go to this event. It will help to be around others here.
Hate has been an integral part of GOP politics for decades. It was initially viewed as “fringe” but has been building for decades. Social media and DJT have made it more acceptable but the SPLC has tracked this since at least the 90s. Evangelicals grifted off, fed into it, and here we are.
JD Vance can dismiss the Young Republicans as a college group chat.

But let's be clear: the group chat includes a State Senator, a Trump Admin official, and multiple Republican staffers — and some of the worst comments came from folks associated with Mike Johnson, Elise Stefanik, and Mike Lawler.
I assure you that GOP conservatives have been engaged in the politics of hate for a long while. I’ve fought some of the horrible LGBT remarks that have come from GOP electeds and their base. I’ve witnessed the long and nasty effort to overturn Roe. None of this shocks me.
Kitty looks puzzled….🤔 but adorable!
