Since Pat Buchanan, the GOP has consistently acted to appease, co-opt, and include those on the party’s fringe.

The Democrats, conversely, consistently strive to sabotage, marginalize, and exclude those not firmly in the corporatist dead center.

Unlike Antifa, they DO have overseas ties / identifiable structures that fit the foreign (vs. domestic) terrorism legal criteria.

Here’s the significance: if Trump designates “antifa” a foreign terror group, they can prosecute anyone they decide fits under that label with an insane amount of latitude.

“Domestic terrorism” is generally just a sentencing enhancement — rather than a crime itself.
