Imo if you wanna get into discworld just read one that looks interesting to you and go from there. Yeah read them all if you like but dont stress about it! My first was small gods, its standalone and quite excellent. After I read a lot of witches, then death, then rincewind/wizards, then Vimes.

Oh for sure. I just think its perfectly sensible for the people writing and maintaining the cannon to look at the sutuation where a bunch of material is classified as 'cannon, unless we contradict it' and just decide to split that stuff off into its own thing for simplicity.

The big problem with the EU is that once the prequels happened it all became quasi-cannon because george lucas didn't want to be beholden to a bunch of stuff he had basically no involvement with. Which is fair imo but people act like disney killed the EU when ut was already basicalky dead.

I saw a news story recently about backlash against pay to win micro transactions in star citizen and christ alive how bad did those have to be to upset fans of the game where you can spend thousands of real dollars on spaceships????

The three games are a trillogy, you play as different characters in each and theres some continuity but its not really important. I played Death first, but its actually the last one. I dont think it really mattered tho. Very funny games, i think Procession to Calvery is my favorite but a 3 are great

I never played X or Y so theres a lot of frankly bizarre story stuff thats just going over my head but on the other hand if i defeat more trainers this evening ill be that much closer to buying the incredibly overpriced shoes i saw earlier.

Pokemon Legends ZA is interesting in that they took the blandest least interesting setting possible but also decided to make the combat fun and streamlined this time. So its both more boring than usual but also much more fun to actually play.

The backstory for mr blobby is that he was invented for a hidden camera gag show where the joke was mr blobby was a horrible awful creation that would obviously terrify children but he proved so popular he just kinda became a character used in childrens television anyway???

Duke nukem co-opted and ruined the bubblegum line but the iceskating line has only become more iconic and celebrated over time. When i saw deapool and wolverine in theatres it got a 5 minute standing ovation from the entire audience. ( i was the only person in the theatre)

It sounds like you have an aversion to melee weapons that break with use which while i dont really understand is worlds more reasonable than getting annoyed about what is essentially an ammo system for a flashlight in a horror game about fighting darkness monsters with a flashlight.

Like the cybertruck the delorian was a failure as an actual vehicle for people to buy and use because the design imperative was 'must look like a cool future car from a sci-fil movie'. The delorian just happened to be put into a scifi movie as a joke so it actually fulfilled its design purpose.

The 85mph speedometer limit is its own weird story, where for some reason they thought if people couldnt acurately see their speed above 85 they'd slow down instead of just driving at 100 mph while still thinking they were at 85.

The reason behind the 88mph target speed is that the delorian's spedometer maxed out at 85. While this was down to regulations and the top speed was closer to 120, the cars poor reputation made it so the idea of a delorian exceeding 85mph was a hilarious joke that goes over everones heads nowadays.

Spiderman 3 is weird because i hated it for its many sins when it came out and disapointed me greatly but when i went back and watched it recently it has all the same problems but actually they dont matter at all and the movie rules.

The new naked gun was so good about this until the very end when they did the extended freeze frame gag then played actual footage from the earlier films over the credits. Also shoutout to anchorman 2's 30 mins of recycled gags that stops the movie dead in its tracks just before the climax.

I have a surface pro 3 and my solution was to buy a secondhand surface pro 7. But i hear theres actually ways to just install windows 11 anyway despite the cpu issue and it mostly works, almost as if the requirements are completely artifical and designed to frighten people into buying new computers.

Panel 5: “Oh!” Maple exclaims, “Tulip told me to talk to Head Office too!”. “That’s not even the worst part!” Maple Leaf continues.
