For All Mankind really hit on this vision in Season 4. While a mostly optimistic kind of alternate history show, the subjugation of workers by an interplanetary corporation felt prescient.

Speaking for myself, I grew up in the deep red south in a very religious household. I was very sheltered. Going to college exposed me to tons of people and ideas that I had never encountered before in my life. Slowly, I began to realize that what I was indoctrinated with was utterly wrong.

Reminder of how great things were under Trump:

Republican Gov Larry Hogan of MD had to station armed troops to keep Kushner & the Trump White House from possibly stealing 500,000 COVID-19 tests that MD obtained from South Korea.

I'm glad others got to see the Northern Lights. Apparently the light pollution in the suburbs of Green Bay is just too strong. I saw a whole lotta nothing

You are a hero. This is amazing! I used to get most of my weather info from Twitter using these bots - thank you for this!
OK...the NWS Bot collection is now fully populated and ready to go. I'm sure bugs will come up along the way, but I think it is 95%+ stable.

There's an index page at nws-bot.us including a map (borrowed from NWS) to find the right bot for the area you want to follow.

Does what we pay teachers matter? A 🧵.

Teachers once took home salaries in line with workers in similar professions. Through the 80s and into the 90s, they paid a small penalty for choosing to teach; in 1993 the average salary of teachers was about 5% lower than that of others with college degrees.

No matter what happens in the debate it is surreal that one of the candidates is a convicted felon & rapist who tried to overthrow the government and we all just have to pretend like it's normal, this is a normal thing and it's harris who has to win people over
