It should be illegal to die this time of year. Shits fucked.

I'm gonna finish that OC thing for my own personal peace of mind and a distraction but hot damn, we're going low effort on this one lads.

Worth a try? I don't normally indulge in these at all, but it would be a nice excuse to draw some old faces.

It's highly unlikely I'll do anything with the characters again, a send off...?

Based off an ancient sketch. In hindsight the values need pushing a lot more, it's a bit flat in places.

So much of my work for others involves conversations about intent, tone, emotions and feelings that come from the client themselves. That I then do my best to empathise with in the art. Robot vomit doesn't tell me what a clients inspiration is coming from. There needs to be that human connection.
Anyone who supports this is an embarrassment. "Instead of typing it out they'll generate their idea"? Are you insane?

Call yourself whatever you want but you aren't creatives, that's for sure.

We spoke to a dozen professional concept artists who are currently or have previously worked in game development about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs any easier.

Zero said it did. Most said it made things harder.

Concept Artists Say Generative AI References Only Make Their Jobs Harder
“The ‘early ideation stages’, when worlds are being fleshed out by writers and artists, are literally crucial to the development of a game’s vision,” said one artist.

Looking back at this series as the year comes to a close, I am still immensely thankful for the people around me at the time of making the original illustrations.

Everythings different now and I carry gratitude I'll carry with me to the grave.
Things got a little rough for a time, but I'm truly lucky and thankful for the people around me.
I have an ending to the calendar project when I get round to it, something more upbeat now.

The kindness and patience of others is a wonderful thing.

Every facet of generative AI has made my professional life worse, without question, but THIS specific aspect has been driving me NUTS.

Clients, who have made me toil for weeks over indescribably small details, are now approving & producing in-house commercial artwork that looks like a fever dream.

I loved the concept of Phorcus when I was working on it and I still do, but the project never gained traction.

The domain is expiring soon and I still can't decide whether to keep it. I'm remiss to linger on it but I still somewhat treasure it.

From Insta. This is so neat! We need monsters like this. Stylized, fluid, unconventional.

(Not me however. My spine says “no,” but in less polite terms.)
