Beatrice the Tliltocatl Vagans tarantula. She is mostly black with striking red hairs on her abdomen. She is perched on a cork log and fake monsters leaves. Turnip the Trochosa Ruricola wolf spider. She is small, brown, and taking a moment of rest on some moss and a fake leaf. Paprika the Phidippus Regius jumping spider. The top of her cephalothorax and abdomen are bright orange, her chelicerae are pink, and the rest of her is off white. She is quite fluffy and very adorable.

today is emilia, the smallest (and grumpiest) of my tarantulas! i hope as she grows she'll gain more confidence and let me take more good pictures of her 🧡 #brachypelmaemilia #tarantula #spider #arachnid #invertebrate
A small tarantula peeks out of her hiding spot. She is mostly black, but has one soft orange segment on each of her legs and a bit of orange hair on her abdomen. Her cephalothorax is also orange with a striking black triangle around her face. She reaches out toward a mini daffodil toy.

This Gnaphosid, which I believe is in the genus Sergiolus, was spotted on a railing around a pond at Mueller State Park in Teller County, CO last June. #arachtober #arachtober2025 #spider 🕷️

This is apparently a “fishing spider”, found in my basement this morning. Named for their tendency to hunt near bodies of water, they are large (4 inches wide measured leg to leg here). They do not hurt humans in any way.

on the left is beatrice! she mostly values dirt for digging, proven by the new pile on front of the burrow, haha. i've decided her signature plant is monstera. the others are adelaide, both today and when i had just put it together. she has golden pothos because she's a golden red rump 😊💖

In front of the burrow there is a pile of dirt that has been recently excavated, but thankfully not into her water bowl this time. A picture of a different, bigger tarantula enclosure. On one side, fake golden pothos spills over two different round logs that are absolutely covered on webbing. The inhabitant is sitting on one at this very moment! A trail of rocks leads to a big pillow of frog moss and her water bowl. The same enclosure as the last picture, this time right after it was put together. It looks a lot more lively and green without all the webbing, but the webbing does add a nice spooky touch!

it's not as impressive as it looks, haha, she's in sort of an in between enclosure right now. i'm waiting for another molt before getting her adult enclosure. but i'll get a pic of it and adelaide's (because i'm so proud of that one) later 😊

@pinescorch.bsky.social is being so kind in letting my spiders stay in his room for a couple days while i figure out a temperature issue with mine. they're mooching off of his gecko's heat lamps and a couple of them seem ready to molt now that they're nice and warm 🥹💖
