It’s because in order to arrive at what’s being touted as “reasonable” or whatever you’re triangulating between grifters who are promising future benefits and people who are pointing out that it’s a grift causing actual harm in the present, and that triangulation is part of how the grift works
It is really unfortunate that it's not possible to have a reasonable discussion about AI on here.
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

BTW, the reason Canada paid the entire $5.7B cost of the bridge was because the Moroun family (who own the competing Ambassador Bridge & are huge pieces of shit) paid off the GOP state Senate majority leader, who refused to allow a vote on committing state money to trigger federal funds.
