New Introduction post! I'm Tess! I'm a disabled, queer, trans, neurospicy, musician, producer, game maker & poet! I run Moth Mother studios: an 800 sq/ft. music production studio in Central Illinois.

Currently making audiodrama, audiobooks & trouble & always looking for gigs & collaborators.

I spent YEARS saying things like "I'm genderfluid/genderqueer/nonbinary, but really I wish I was just a girl, but that's so scary, and I couldn't transition, and I would just be ugly and disappointed with transition." Imposter syndrome hit me hard!

I have so many ideas! I can't decide which one to write next. My current plan is to continue pairing the real-world queer romance with some metafictional genre story that connects with it in some way, that the characters are fans of. It's going to let me write sapphic vampires, and succubi, and....🤯

This has been a wonderful, delightful read, hitting me at perhaps just the right time. I wish I could send it back in time to myself five or ten years ago. Maybe I wouldn't have the perspective to properly appreciate it, but I think chapter 19 would have completely exploded my egg even then.

I'm so glad the ending landed! I've started so many stories, and ended very few, and I really wanted to give these girls a good send off! Thank you so much for sharing their journey with me!

I had so much fun with the Seiko chapters. I had a moment, right as Kyla accepts the sword from Kitty, where I was tempted to completely change what I was writing, and make the whole thing a magical girl story. Instead, the Seiko stuff gave me an outlet for that desire.

I wrote a novel! A novel with queer girls, polyamory, trans people of all shapes and sizes, disability, neurodivergence, deep explorations of trauma, intense queer yearning, useless sapphics, BDSM, some *cough* extremely spicy T4T sex & a whole Fictional Trans-Affirming Magical Anime B-story!

If a provost or dean senses an equity issue - especially one with the potential to become "News", they will often apply pressure on the Dean of Graduate studies to take action. It's helpful if you have a record of any discrepancies between things they told you & your experience at the border.
