#SpacetoberChallenge Day 14: Spacecraft

NEAR (Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous) Shoemaker was the first spacecraft to orbit an asteroid (Eros) and land on it successfully. #Spacetober

(In hindsight, I wish I’d drawn it facing the other way so the solar panels were aimed at Eros’ light source. Oops!)

Today's #SpacetoberChallenge topic is "Spacecraft". I have a lot of spacecraft art. Lets start with a patch design that features three distinct spacecraft. This is the first of a series for each of the SpaceX Crew Dragon vehicles.

#SpacetoberChallenge Day 13: Deep Space Network

Posting this one a little late because I got carried away with the details and didn’t finish in time to post yesterday.

I think we can safely assume this razor clam is shredded from all that exercise shredding (and playing saxophone). Day 12 #inktober #invertober2025 #SpacetoberChallenge #OC_tober catchup
A small and simple pen on paper drawing of a clam riding a skateboard and playing a saxophone under a partial solar eclipse. The prompts are written on the right right of the drawing: shredded, Pacific razor clam, eclipse, playing an instrument.

Ohhh apparently it's #PortfolioDay again!

I'm Vicky, I paint space and use genuine space dust in my original pieces!

Light pollution is such a HUGE issue, that I've made it my life's mission to bring to stars to everyone!

I dabble in astrophotography occasionally too.💜💫

Catching up with day 11 of #Inktober #invertober2025 #SpacetoberChallenge #OC_tober . . . In which asteroid witches threaten to throw live spider into cauldron, unaware they are falling victim to sting operation! (Look, sometimes the prompts don't fit together all that well 😆)
Pen on paper drawing of two witches standing over a large cauldron on a small asteroid. They are smiling and holding a large spider over the cauldron, whose legs are braced against the cauldron rim. Two other spiders peek around from the other side of the asteroid, ready to join their undercover partner in arresting the witches.

Bonus Iridium Flare added from first gen sats! #Spacetober

"Eclipse" is the topic for today's #spacetoberchallenge. North America was the witness to two TSE's within a decade. In 2024 I released a patch to celebrate it. In 2017 I launched a high altitude balloon in Oregon to capture its shadow. I hung a little astronaut in front of the camera for fun.
