Well deserved. Great artwork!

Meanwhile, the VP says their ideas of a plan will "hopefully" be cheaper.

Retrorocket Emblem was started to provide patch artwork for old milestone missions that lacked official insignia. Best to my ability I wanted to do them in a way that uses artwork styles from the period. At first glance they should read like period piece. These are for the Apollo era.

Today's #SpacetoberChallenge topic is "Spacecraft". I have a lot of spacecraft art. Lets start with a patch design that features three distinct spacecraft. This is the first of a series for each of the SpaceX Crew Dragon vehicles.

Cool thing about them is that, like rainbows, they are your very own personal phenomenon. It literally reveals how far back you are sitting on the airplane.

GenAI is a terribly confusing name for LLMs.

"Eclipse" is the topic for today's #spacetoberchallenge. North America was the witness to two TSE's within a decade. In 2024 I released a patch to celebrate it. In 2017 I launched a high altitude balloon in Oregon to capture its shadow. I hung a little astronaut in front of the camera for fun.

LLM is not general AI (AGI). Not even close.

I don't have any particular artwork that fits #spacetoberchallenge topic "Asteroid", but I do have a photo of the layer left by the asteroid that ended the dinosaurs. The white line is the layer with extra-terrestrial iridium called the Cretaceous–Paleogene boundary (K-Pg). Location: Colorado.

I am a day late for #spacetoberchallenge 's theme of "Artemis II". This is the 2nd planned installment for my Artemis patch mosaic project. There are some liberties taken with scale and how the astronauts would be actually positioned but I wanted to express the awe of the lunar flyby. #nasa

Just like the rest of Iceland, it's never the same twice.

They're showing up at Goodwill in droves, if that isn't a sign I don't know what is.

Today's #spacetoberchallenge is "Propulsion". I stopped designing SpaceX-related patches earlier this year, but I would be remiss in not recognizing the engineering behind Starship Super Heavy and the Raptor engines. I did these patches in 2021 and 2023.

Today's #spacetoberchallenge subject is "Space Agency". This patch commemorates a rare convergence of three space agency probes on Mars in the same month in 2021: NASA, China National Space Administration and the UAE Space Agency. I hope such convergences are more commonplace in the future.

#spacetoberchallenge topic for today: "Constellation". Before there was TV, radio and even books, there was the night sky. Crux (the Southern Cross) is a particularly important one for navigation. Here I've used it #NASA and the SOFIA program's annual Southern deployment to New Zealand.
