Maybe you missed the subtext of this post: Joe Lieberman, an erstwhile Democrat, wouldn't even support a public *option* let alone single payer. It was by no means only Rs that were against it.
I know this isn't just about Hillary, but the claimed context of this particular quote is highly suspect based on editing of this video, which appears to be the source. Will leave it to you to decide whether this was actually her response to that question youtu.be/nEbBwJMyFdA?...
youtu.be
Beware all tweets lacking attribution. Only apparent source here seems to be a heavily edited podcast clip that makes the OP's narrative highly, um, suspect

"So clean you could eat off of it" (ironic)
Does it come with a matching cake stand?
You're probably thinking of Kevin Brown. Apparently Dan has never officially held the title (yet), but he's been working in that capacity off and on. The sheer turnover in the role is probably just as big a factor as any individual, though

Thank you Congressman Neguse for laying it plain.
I have some secondhand knowledge of the campaign manager's decision-making skills and they don't sound great. Dan something. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes soon and the ship steadies a bit.
Congressional and prez campaigns have regional field offices with their own management staff as well as central/"national" campaign staff.

Not surprising since Susan Collins rules their world, but it should embarrass the major Maine media outlets that they all got beat to this obvious, salient story by an out-of-state outlet. #MEpolitics
Possible flaw in this plan is that a Dem congress, even if elected, has to be allowed to convene in the first place. Johnson's people will likely try to stop that from happening.
Mike Johnson version: my son says he'll stop looking at gay porn when I do. I'll stop looking at it when he does.

🚨 NEW AD! 🚨

Not for our election. But for the election next Tuesday.

Right wing billionaire Leonard Leo is pouring money into Question 1, which would shred absentee voting in Maine.

But our movement is fighting back.
TFW you realize you no longer have any future in politics because you quit a Dem primary campaign then immediately went to the press to trash it 🙄

I no longer support him either, but this is psychotic behavior.
Always fun to see until you're boxed in behind it on 295 and quickly realize it's top speed is around 60.
This. Build a new House Rotunda underground here, accessible via tunnel, to fit all the new reps. The old House chamber becomes the new Senate (if we still have one) and the old Senate becomes a public space.
Upon first seeing this I didn't hear it in sublime but still found it funny. Then I saw it again, heard it, and it was even funnier
What would that prove, exactly? That's what it is and most of us didn't have one on our chest for 20yrs.

again, I don't think theories like this are taking into account that Platner got started as the candidate of Maine organized labor because they have a terrible relationship with Mills
I don't fuckin trust him. I think he's a plant by the maine republicans to make the dems lose that seat. If he wins, he's going to vote like a republican. Like he's going to pull a ridiculous, bald-face 180 and not even care. They'll say what are we gonna do about it? They need to give him the boot.

The entire Platner situation is heartbreaking because a wide chunk of the Democratic electorate is desperate for someone who won't communicate in sentence-long conglomerations of phrases that have been focused grouped for years and wants that to pay off well, just once, and so far it hasn't.

Personally I’m less offended by Platner’s tattoo and the Reddit posts than by (1) the inability of the team to anticipate the issue and plan ahead and (2) the consultants who sought him out to do any vetting at all and built this working class populist image out of not much.
It was also major political malpractice on the part of whomever "vetted" him and either a) didn't catch something so easily discovered, or b) knew about it and somehow didn't think it would come out over the course of a year-plus campaign and potential decades-long Senate career.
