I recently realized I need to repeat this as much as possible, particularly in San Francisco’s case, Trolley Buses have been ZERO emission for 90 years (since inception). BEBs would not only reduce efficiency but potentially increase dirty energy use. Everywhere should be returning to trolley buses.
Transit agencies trying to get rid of Trolleybuses and replace them with BEBs should have reevaluations of their leadership.
1000%!!! That and everyone deserves better than typical highway median stations. They waste so much potential.

But ps - Would just like to ask people not use AI for environmental projects.
Yeah, that’s what I mean, though. We had people flyering at ours to guide them to sustained action and long term change. Was just saying without people doing that these often just release pent up energy into nothing tangible.
알아요. Off direct mass action involving standing in front of cops to help senators trespass on their capitol and calling for a general strike. So, this isn’t that, but Brandon Johnson is taking it the right direction but Cory Booker being involved means they want this energy to support the do-nothings
That’s my point, though. Yeah, lots of people brought them, but some organizers asked people to put them down. They adopt the frog suits but don’t direct the rally to stand in front of the ICE buildings. Enjoy the time you had, but effectual change isn’t happening through this.
I mean turnout is big while the Dem party is still polling lowest in a minority session than anytime in living memory. The people with the best odds are going outside the Dems to primary them, but these rallies don’t contest those Dems, even ask people not bring Gaza signs.
Planned for real estate, not pedestrians. Literally, too. The 1st floor space that should be a local store is Intero, a real estate office.
This is basically part of the Caltrain station. You’re expected to walk, or even wheelchair here. Trees and lamps are great, but not when they’re at the expense of a wide, comfortable walking area.
The Caltrain suburbs (that used to be built like cities!) are STILL treating sidewalk space as free real estate.
You’re supposed to be pointing out this is the way Dems have leverage to reverse some of these cuts right now, man. This post is a Schumer style snooze fest. Highlight this is fighting and for what!!
I was just talking about this with some friends and they had the same reaction. lmao

The city should buy this portfolio and leverage Prop I revenue to make it happen. This would be consistent with the vision of the voters, the BOS, and our office in passing Prop I in 2020. Let’s seize the opportunity to jumpstart a real social housing program and do this now!
66 buildings in S.F. face foreclosure after Veritas defaults on $652M debt
Tranche of 1,566 units could be sold as soon as December by San Francisco's former No. 1 landlord, barring deal or repayment of huge debt.

The main goal of transit is moving people. Collecting fares is how society has currently chosen to partially fund that. But the new gate and reader system puts fares over moving people. And that indicates a loss of mission focus on everyone's part.
So why are you helping make people like him unsafe?

📚 New CA Bill Could Punish Educators for Discussing Israel’s Genocide in Gaza

Teacher unions (CTA, CFT, CFA), civil rights groups, and 100+ grassroots orgs are sounding the alarm over AB 715 — a bill passed overnight that gives a governor-appointed “Antisemitism Prevention Coordinator” -

When cops "clean up encampments," the result is that a nonzero number of unhoused people will die from that violence enacted on them; what do you THINK happens to people already barely clinging to existence when you do that to them?
They’re awful!!! I think curtailing evasion is always a waste of time, but the gates don’t even make a meaningful difference to that at most stops. So we just wasted a ton of money on security theater to *inhibit* ridership. 🤦‍♂️
Yeah, I'm aware they're not the same, but it's more about advocates NOT framing Waymo and unemployment also as enemies yet OFTEN seeing blue collar workers or local citizens as enemies.
We really gotta reevaluate a society where some of its "environmental" advocates are more concerned about the *potential* cost savings of automating public transit drivers than the environmental and social impact of the technology required to do that, assuming it is possible.
Rebuild the Key System!!!

That includes the bridge lanes
every stroad in east bay that used to have streetcars on it needs a road diet, whether you do that through bus lanes or greenery or wider sidewalks or protected bike lanes i dont care, there's no reason these wide dangerous roads should continue to exist
Hongmei Chen, a single mother, was killed by a large truck on Telegraph Avenue and 51st Street in Oakland while returning home from work.
This isn’t a good brag given all the line consolidation and overall ridership being down, though
