Just to save time: Everything is shocking and unprecedented.

That covers it.

Back to Beach Therapy, puns, music, and capybaras.

Want to go to the beach so bad I could weep.
Beach view with waves and blue water. Hills in the distance and green trees in the foreground. Mist is seen at the beach edges.

My family of 6 took the ferry across Puget Sound to attend what ended up being the last playoffs game for the Mariners back in 1994 or 1995.

Today, I asked my dad how much the tickets were back then for those playoff games. Here's what he said. (Alt text attached to image) 😱😱😱
I don't remember the total cost. But we had to buy tickets for every home playoff game through the World Series.

The Mariners didn't make it to the World Series so I sent in the unused tickets and got a refund of over $800 for 3 or 4 games for 4 tickets. So the World Series tickets were between $50 and $66 each.

Mike Johnson's likely reaction when he encounters sculptures.
A sculpture of a nude woman with red hearts over the private bits.

I can honestly say I never ran into this on Match dot com and I ran into some *interesting* attire.

Oilcloth coat as metaphor to let the tough times roll off your back. That's what I'm going with.

I don't get hating a fan group of a music artist when you could just ignore it and turn to your preferred tunes.

If someone derives joy from a shared music experience during this relentlessly tough time, go for it. Music is subjective and always has been.

"In any nonviolent campaign there are four basic steps: collection of the facts to determine whether injustices exist; negotiation; self purification; and direct action." --MLK

Many of us are planning on engaging in some form of the fourth step this weekend. It behooves us to pursue the third now.
From Martin Luther King Jr.'s "Letter From A Birmingham Jail." "In any nonviolent campaign there are four basic steps: collection of the facts to determine whether injustices exist; negotiation; self purification; and direct action..." As in so many past experiences, our hopes had been blasted, and the shadow of deep disappointment settled upon us. We had no alternative except to prepare for direct action, whereby we would present our very bodies as a means of laying our case before the conscience of the local and the national community. Mindful of the difficulties involved, we decided to undertake a process of self purification. We began a series of workshops on nonviolence, and we repeatedly asked ourselves: “Are you able to accept blows without retaliating?” “Are you able to endure the ordeal of jail?” We decided to schedule our direct action program for the Easter season, realizing that except for Christmas, this is the main shopping period of the year. Knowing that a strong economic-withdrawal program would be the by product of direct action, we felt that this would be the best time to bring pressure to bear on the merchants for the needed change.

Had the best salad I've had in a long while. Crab and shrimp salad that had butter lettuce, avocado, heirloom tomatoes, roasted corn, cucumbers, with a bright and delicious lemon oregano dressing.

Yum.
