“I'm really looking forward to embracing some of the great traditions at University of Tennessee. For instance, the Vol walk, running through the T, singing Rocky Top all night long after we beat Florida next year.”

Pretty terrible evening for guys who travel primarily via longboard and cut the sleeves out of every shirt they own so far.

You cannot convince me that there is a single fully conscious individual who is choosing to listen to “The Triple Option” podcast with Urban Meyer.

God I love Josh Heupel. He’s an all time FFC. Look at this formation. This is peak football.

Gator fans: Run, don’t walk to Salty Dog! Beat the crowd and snag some half priced apps. There’s no need to sit through an ass beating like this.

So how long does ESPN leave this tidbit up about Georgia Tech? Do you think they take it down at 35-0?

Idk who said it during Trump 1 (I think it was Matt christman?) but the idea that you could get Trump to support universal healthcare if they called it TrumpCare and his company got a cut somehow is still very much alive.
TRUMP [after spending 5 minutes with Zohran]: surplus value, it’s a very wonderful thing, very wonderful, and they’re stealing it. Can you believe that?

We’re going to be looking very strongly at the bourgeoisie, what they’re up to

Well, we are in agreement that I don’t really actually need FFS, so I guess that’s one thing that’s gone well for my transition.

Only Butch Jones could find a way to lose like that. Trying to punch it in as time expired, no whistle blown, during the struggle, half of Louisiana’s sideline storms onto the field while the play is still live.

Officials declare the game over, no penalty.

I wish I was pretty enough that strangers would be inspired to draw me when I posted a selfie.

In unrelated news, the bill has now passed unanimously and Trump is going to sign it. Weird, someone is quoted in this story about how the natsec qualifier was “standard procedure” needed to get ppl to sign. Wonder why!

Ever just get a post that won’t get out of your head? It’s usually only like, medium funny, but somehow it’s still rattling in there weeks later.

I love Lane Kiffin in the same way that I love Steve Spurrier: a wrestling heel that I spent my youth hating intensely, only to see finally chastened and defanged, now just a fun little gremlin stirring up drama among my many enemies

Here’s to you, coach. May every mattress in your life burn bright

Sent a request to upgrade my season tix for next year. If you have the (mis)fortune to have a season ticket relationship with the Mariners, make sure you inform your rep that ownership/front office moves to acquire/retain a competitive roster is your #1 priority as a fan

Welcome back Big Grumper!

I don’t know why I expected a good story from the NYT here on trans passports but half of it is just laundering hate, and the other half is the most bougie trans ppl talking about how unsafe they are

They quote an anon director who says she feels unsafe when traveling to her second home - in Spain

I need to get my hands on some all-22 and figure out if I’m allowed to be excited about faizon brandon. We had a lead on that at old work but that’s out now obv

Turns out Joey Football is what he is, the turnovers were just backloaded. I like the guy (I have something from vol club from him), but he’s Jonathan Crompton in a better offense

I’m afraid that @dirtbagqueer.rocks has forever altered my view of kickers. Every time one of them misses a big time kick I’m just thinking “egg? Is it gonna crack?”

Sports affordability in general is starting to become out of control. The first politician to seize on this will swing over a lot of voters

My dad had season tickets to Tennessee football games since the 80s. He had to give it up recently when the AD demanded new “donations”. It hurt him bad.
What happens when college football games are only for the rich? Some faithful fans are finding out

Speaking of intentionally killing stories, I can’t be the only one who thought it was a little weird that democrats waited until now to dump these emails.

Very convenient way to distract from their capitulation to the republicans on Sunday. And it seems to be going very well for them.
Papers do intentionally publish/kill/obfuscate stories, sometimes in a way that constitutes journalism malpractice. That’s not a conspiracy, it’s a combination of bias and capitulation. Again, you can be mad about something without making stuff up.
To the people defending the NYT today or saying that they don’t intentionally publish/kill/obfuscate stories… consider this mondoweiss.net/2025/07/a-ne...

That’s such a monumentally stupid way to rig something. Really? You think that you’re going to put 8 legs on a very specific player’s action more than once, and a trader isn’t gonna catch that? We used to have a better class of point shaver.
Emmanuel Clase and fellow Guardian pitcher Luis Ortiz were charged today with wire fraud and several counts of conspiracy in a pitch-speed scheme.

An indictment revealed numerous texts, calls and money trails that connect the pitchers with several bettors.
