Trump is not hot and is so delusional.

it is not remarked upon enough that these guys just genuinely and sincerely hate america and hate americans
it's utterly wild how the Heritage Foundation president talks about other people

if you found a guy talking like this outside, you'd probably call the cops

Jonathan Greeblatt is so mind numbingly racist and incapable of focusing on anything of importance that he apparently thinks Huda Mustafa, a Palestinian contestant of Love Island, is the same person as Huda Kattan, founder of Huda Beauty.

Nick Fuentes says Jews are the cause of all the world's problems. Some liberal critics disagree.

I have such great appreciation for
Texas House Minority Leader Gene Wu and his consistent messaging to Asians to understand their rights in this country, their presence here was paid for with the blood and sacrifice of Black people

Asians need to stop the anti-Blackness

This is so good. Watch it:

Wow $176K in subsidies after only 2-3 years of farming (and specialty crops! that aren't even supposed to be subsidized!)

may we all stumble into such luck

Yep. Hard one. My GOP rep, a dairy farmer reporting $50 mil assets, just used a Latina farmer who can't access her USDA loan in his ONLY posts that didn't blame Dems for the shutdown. She's only been farming 2-3 yrs at pres. location. He's used DACA youth & MMIW similarly for PR efforts.

It has not escaped my notice that "what about minority farmers?" is most likely to come up, from white folks, when I talk about how US farmers are wealthy.

At first I thought that's bc they cared?

Then I realized it's often a defensive tactic. To stop a convo that they don't want to hear.

By definition, if someone's selling at a farmer's market, they have enough control over their schedule to commit to being there every week. They have reliable transportation to get there.

Living near the poverty line usually means you lack one or both of those things. This isn't rocket science.

There's "acknowledging white folks in the US have a big leg up on wealth."

Then there's "assuming Black & brown people are poor by default, until proven otherwise."

That's not compassion. That's just condescension.

When you're poor, farming is something you can afford to do once you've gotten your feet under you at least a little. Your lifestyle might not be lavish, but you've got basic stability & savings.

Because farming just isn't all that profitable. Especially at the beginning.

As you've noticed!

Do people really think most Latino vendors at the farmer's market are the poorest of the poor? Hustling on day labor & service sector jobs where they have no control over their schedule, & no savings to rent land with?

You think that's who's landing highly competitive farmer's market booth spots??

Do people really think a family manages to hang onto their land through a century of Jim Crow, to be one of the last Black sugarcane farmers in Louisiana... by being broke?

Really??

Super poor farmers of color don't survive the headwinds our society throws at them y'all. That's literally the whole problem.

The Provosts had people trying to come after their land… because they had land!

They had very real wealth! That was worth taking!

I've been working with BIPOC farmers on their very numerous & real problems for years.

Which is why it's wild to watch people just assume that if a farmer's not white, they must be poor. Like super poor.

It also just comes up in day-to-day work. Like "Oh these 1st-gen Sikh berry farmers in WA are struggling w food safety audits bc the trainings are in English. That's their 2nd language. Let's not charge them for these audits, hook them up w real training, & try again next year."

Have you ever tried finding a Louisiana sugarcane agronomist willing to testify in court AGAINST THE BANKS & SUGARCANE MILL that employ their entire sector? In defense of a Black family?

I had to dig up a guy so retired, the banks couldn't even threaten his *children's* careers.
