Really? He took teams to the playoffs in this century I’m pretty sure. Won a WS as a pitching coach this century. What game are you watching? Maybe too much time on the party deck not watching?
Unfortunately the baseball that Bud learned (and unfortunately has not forgotten) was from the 1990's.

I’ll be at a lot of games at Coors next summer. Also busy learning on the job with my HS team.
… and a lot more social security withholding, amiright?

Jokes aside, I’d love to buy you a beer, just two guys who want to see the same result with different perspectives on how to get there. Appreciate your passion.

Without that special player in the clubhouse, you need a Manager who has been there and done that, not someone young who is learning on the job.
All true. And Cave, Farmer, Stallings also weren’t it. It’s gotta be the right kinda guy with the right kind of swagger, not just grey hair. Remember how much tougher they seemed when Giambi joined? We need a Giambi.

I like Karros, too...but what happened AFTER the RyMac trade? Things actually got worse.
Remember, the Rockies were lousy the previous two seasons, but what happened when Charlie Blackmon wasn't in the clubhouse last summer? Young teams need a veteran presence. And Kris Bryant aint it.
I know this is super-ageist but I would rather have a 40-year old who is growing into the job and can be with the team for a while than a well-qualified 65-year old taking his last few trips around the bases

Like how I’m glad to see Karros at 3rd instead of McMahon, you grow by doing

Come on, man. Bud has forgotten more about baseball than Warren has learned. Bud's been to the playoffs and WS as a coach and Mgr. Warren would be lucky and blessed to have Bud's coaching career. Be fair.
Nothing about the upcoming 100-loss season is going to benefit anyone.
I hear you, Mark. Very much a difficult year on the horizon for Warren, but he has already out-performed Bud the Boomer with the same raw materials. Now he has improved org to give him better tools and clear culture. For 26 either guy pushing 100 loses, I prefer the guy who will benefit in 27 & 28
November 25, 2025 at 6:12 PM
What happens when you lack veteran leadership - and the current Rockies have NONE - is youth just learns how to lose to experience. He'll will grow into the job by losing. His resume will be 70 games under .500 when he's looking for his next job. I like Warren. He's being thrown to the wolves here.
