This feels like an illustration of the MAGA/Neocon split. WSJ says we can't do regime change wars if we don't let in the people who help us and Miller wants no one here. Except now, Trump is also planning a regime change war in Venezuela.

It's all so incoherent
🎁 link to the WSJ editorial that made Stephen Miller so mad.

"It would be a shame if this single act of betrayal became the excuse for deporting all Afghan refugees...

"Thousands are building new lives here in peace. Collective punishment won’t make America safer."

The alleged shooting by an Afghan ‘partner’ shouldn’t condemn all who assisted the U.S. and now live here.

Sure, but who determines what a lie is?
I wrote about a novel approach to tackling misinformation currently being discussed in Wales--and which some say Canada should try, too. What if we made a rule so politicians couldn't lie? www.thestar.com/politics/fed...
Is it time to make it illegal for politicians to lie to us?
That’s the question currently on the table in Wales, which has just released a draft of the “globally pioneering” sanctions for politicians.

My man here pretending he can derive iron laws of society from concepts that barely existed 200 years ago. It sounds profound to him I'm sure, but this is babbling street preacher level nonsense.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

Also by doing that, the center-left parties are telling normies that the xenophobes are justified in their concerns.
The problem with center-left parties embracing xenophobic politics is that they are a race to the bottom. There is no point at which the racists that you are pandering to will be okay with the level of immigration. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/27/w...

Terribly frustrating first half with the officiating.
Thanks to John Niyo's broadcast playing next to me, that TO came in late on the offside on fourth-and-1. Woof.

So who decides if the claim is false?
Elon Musk, the guy who did two Nazi salutes in public and has previously described himself as a “free speech absolutist,” thinks it should be a crime to “falsely” call someone a Nazi or a fascist.

I think there are three types of university in the U.S.:

Hedge funds with a sideline in education; residential landlords with a sideline in education; and parking lot operators with a sideline in education.
When I was at NC state, I had lunch with a visiting scholar from Sweden who was visiting US universities for the first time. He described his experience as touring “hedge funds with football teams.”
That is so much money

Honestly, this game has been a treat for the Tottenham fans who miss Ange.

What a stupid second half.
Honestly not a bad first half for Tottenham. I like mixing in some long balls because Spurs have sucked against pressing all year. Bergvall looks good. Still expect PSG to win, but this is a good response from Sunday.

Three incorrect pie opinions all in the same skeet.
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

Question about the dissent by (the far-right) Justice Ziegler: Does this quote actually appear in Moore v. Harper? Did Moore say that state courts' role in congressional redistricting is "exceedingly limited"? I don't think it did! vhdshf2oms2wcnsvk7sdv3so.blob.core.windows.net/thearp-media...

I have lived in a lot of places so Facebook used to be a really useful product for me to keep up with people. Now it is completely useless for that purpose. I do see a lot of random stand-up clips.
My Facebook feed no longer has anything from people I know. Instead it's 99% AI slop videos of "trains floating on canal boats having accidents in which someone falls into the water". It's horrible, mainly because I can't stop watching them on repeat and the algorithm knows the darkness of my soul.
