MMW: Trump will cajole/blackmail/extort his way to a Nobel Peace Prize. And then the next “winner” will refuse the “honor,” forever marking its complete bankruptcy, its tainting, if not ending it completely. #ettd

Locking in for oral arguments on the big voting rights case at the Supreme Court.

The next two hours or so will be... incredibly bad.

It’s the “Holy Roman Empire” of Middle Eastern diplomacy: It’s neither “lasting” nor “peaceful”, nor is it even a “plan.”

Trump’s “Lasting Middle East Peace Plan” didn’t last 48 hours

I don’t *want* the U.S. to lose the Cup or the Olympics, and it will certainly hurt local economies (stores, restaurants, hotels) more than it hurts Trump. That said, I support the moral stand and I’m going to be watching on TV regardless of where the games are played—here or somewhere else!

I guess it’s too much to hope that Dems could get better at actually explaining their policies instead of getting into debates about egg prices.

Being “Without a press corps” is a feature, not a bug, for these guys.
I’m glad there’s been some good pushback (even from NewsMax?!?) but in any other administration* this would be a massive scandal.
*something I keep saying, at this point, not sure why I bother.

An extraordinary new policy from the Defense Department that equates basic reporting methods to criminal activity has prompted a revolt among Pentagon journalists that could leave the nation's largest agency and the world's largest military without a press corps.
'Without precedent': Virtually all news outlets reject restrictive Pentagon press policy
The policy would force news organizations to refrain from publishing material not approved by the military. Media lawyers say it violates the 1st Amendment.

I think the pushback is getting some coverage, but you’re right that in any other administration* this would be a massive scandal.

Truly good public servants lost to monstrous cuts leading to monstrous outcomes.

At a time when the regime is creating an all-time high in stress for people, what does this monstrous group do but fire the very government staff that's designed to provide help to people in psychological need. Generating the most pain and suffering is not a byproduct, it is part of their goal.
Mental health, substance abuse staffers fired amid government shutdown: Sources
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration employees were among those laid off in the wave of government shutdown firings last week, sources told ABC News.

And the Special Ed folks too. They help(ed) administer programs to kids with learning difficulties as well as some with behavioral issues that interfere with education. Truly good people lost to monstrous cuts leading to monstrous outcomes.

“Anti semitism on campus” was always just a cover for “bashing liberals” it’s ALWAYS bashing liberals.

Forgiveness is a completely different matter; regardless of his specific policies, it’s clear they were voting for a racist incompetent self enriching buffoon.

I’ll bet my bottom dollar it was intentional.

The thing about trusting liars is that they lie. (I’m talking abit DHS, not the unfortunate people in the story)

Tim Walz: "The biggest myth is that this guy understands business. He's an absolute abject failure at business ... the irony is calling Democrats socialists when I am begging for free markets here to allow capitalism to work. Donald Trump is the one with government interference."

And not just at HHS. We literally ALL are. They keep us safe from billions of invaders every day.

Sadly, it’s a far more common line of thinking than you’d imagine. “The natives already were at war; they kept slaves…” etc, and then go on to justify everything that followed 1492.

Literally nothing coming from the Pentagon, DHS, or DOJ should be considered credible unless backed up by an independent source outside of government. (This, for the record, is a huge problem!)

Imagine a liberal saying Kirk’s sin was being too slow. “Conservatives need to work on their agility” “you ain’t woke, you’re a slow poke” etc
michaeleichner.bsky.social
Given the level of coke/amphetamine use among the rich set, very much so.
michaeleichner.bsky.social
If someone even vaguely left of center blamed Kirk’s death on his lack of agility, they’d be fired, canceled, and their photo shown several times an hour on Fox News.

Voting for him but praying either his (or his employees’) better angels would stop him makes them more culpable than plain stupidity in my eyes.
