Boring. Likes to read and crochet, among other things. Sinophile. History nerd.
Before I start, I am okay. I am home safely, there was no accident, and the usual post-incident panic has now set in.

I chose not to have children. I resent being woken up at dark o'clock by someone else's screaming brat because his father couldn't be arsed to wake up until one of the other kids got sick of the toddler and went to get him. (Footsteps tell stories to someone who has no choice but to hear it.)

Hm. I had to have an ekg and a chest x-ray... and a right scolding for not going to the hospital a couple weeks back. Won't this be fun.

@astromikemerri.bsky.social Stupid Question Time. Do we know what a dead globular cluster looks like? Have we detected any? They're dense & old, yes, but what do we know of their life cycle beyond "born from the same unimaginably huge cloud of dust & decided to be BFFs with their littermates?"

If your song uses the word "fly" as an adjective, it was not from the 80's.
If your song was big about 10-15 years ago, it is not from the 80's.
If your song uses the words "I made this for you on my phone," IT IS NOT FROM THE 80'S.
If the singer is Ludacris, it is DEFINITELY. Not. From. THE 80'S!

Listening to the 80's playlist on YT again. Some things here were just snuck in, istg. There's one I recognise as being a Big Thing in the early 2010s, and one that was definitely from the 90's. We did not use "fly" in the 80's. That was the 90's.

Cranberry orange buns, pumpkin bread, and the makings for four different types of cookies. Those aren't baked yet because for one, I am in pain, and for another, I never noticed in that recipe it says to "let sit for an hour."

I get the feeling I'm going to have to fight people for my own cranberry orange buns. I can't keep them all; my metformin would give up.

This question is only for people who are old enough to remember soundtrack albums: Does it bother you if you go to YT and find the playlist of said album is out of proper album order? My brain does not like it--it knows what is supposed to come next, and whatever does is not right.

I was beginning to bake and tried to open the nutmeg jar. It was stuck fast, so I played this to see if the jar would open. (It didn't, but I still managed to get it open after breaking the flip cap.)

A silly little modern AU.

When LWJ was just Babyji, he had very sensitive skin. They had to use special soap and detergent for him, but he cried that he didn't smell nice like everyone else. Eventually, a formula was worked out that smelled of sandalwood and didn't cause rashes.
