After years of sniffing out tuberculosis in Africa, Caroline, an African giant pouched rat (Cricetomys ansorgei), officially retired in March.
Her incredible nose helped detect thousands of TB cases missed by conventional methods and she did it much faster than lab technicians.

Tell me you didn’t submit to an @apspublications.bsky.social journal without telling me.

Nothing says "We care about authors" like a boilerplate rejection email from unnamed "Editor" and proposal to transfer to an irrelevant journal

Speaking of voices under attack…can we be just as loud about Black journalists and comedians who are silenced, even by our so-called liberal outlets.

• Joy Reid
• Don Lemon
• Melissa Harris-Perry
• Tiffany Cross
• Jemele Hill
• Marc Lamont Hill
• Karen Attiah
• Amber Ruffin
It sounds like a sign you should heed.

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.
