I would once again like to thank @clairewillett.bsky.social for Stuffins which have become our annual Thanksgiving tradition. (Hint: Put the extras in the freezer, and when you make your turkey soup, put a frozen Stuffin at the bottom of each bowl before you serve. Soup=perfect eating temperature.)

Real question for my Native friends: I'd like to acknowledge that today is a day of mourning for many. Is there anything you might recommend that pays respects in a way I can incorporate? We always start the meal with 3 kernels corn and a Thank You but it doesn't feel enough.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I wish more reporting on this made the point that novelists won't be displaced by LLMs suddenly producing literature instead of story mulch, but because decision makers focused only on the bottom line, who don't understand what makes a good book, will be persuaded story mulch has got 'good enough'.

As someone who has had multiple MRIs, you absolutely know what the techs are imaging before they put you in the machine, because if there is any sort of metal in the target area you *really* need to let them know beforehand since cleaning bloodstains out of the tube is NOT a good time
