Remember: The oligarchs who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us so they can become more powerful.

They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see where all the wealth and power have gone.

Don't fall for it.

I don’t know who made this cartoon panel, but speaking as someone who has a long-established and incandescent love for Fleming Rutledge … this is hysterically funny.

I’m a day late, but listen up.

The Immaculate Conception does *NOT* refer to conception of Jesus in the womb of Mary.

The Immaculate Conception refers to the conception of *MARY* in the womb of *HER* mother (traditionally ascribed the name Anne).

There have been good hymns and bad hymns in every age. At the same time the Church was singing the Christ hymn Paul quotes in Philippians, she was also seeking some shallow schlock hymns. The Christ hymn survives and the others disappeared. 1/3

By my back of the envelope math, a Democratic swing in the order of last night’s special election in the Tennessee 7th would deliver a net Democratic gain in the order of 40 seats.

Hegseth is a war criminal.

And so is the field commander
who obeyed the order.

Nuremberg determined that
“I was only following orders”
is *not* a legitimate defence.
If the Venezuelan sailors were enemy combatants, then the 2nd strike is a war crime.

If the Venezuelan sailors weren’t enemy combatants, then both strikes are criminal murder.

It’s that simple.

Pete Hegseth is a war criminal,
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.
Hegseth order on first Caribbean boat strike, officials say: Kill them all
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a verbal order to kill all crew members in the Sept. 2 strike on a suspected drug boat. Navy SEALs fired a second missile.

So I gotta ask, why aren’t Republicans insisting on calling the Vice-President John Donald Bowman?
The GOP push to prevent trans people from deciding their own names threatens all Americans
OPINION: “What’s at stake isn’t just about names… It’s about a broader liberty that Americans of all stripes have long enjoyed: The right to cultivate our own public personas.”

I suspect so.

A stopped clock is correct for exactly two minutes per day, or slightly less than 0.14% of the time. Within a minute, it’s wrong again.

Rather like James Carville’s op-ed in the New York Times today.

Yes, economic populism is the path to victory for Dems.

It seems the actual debate here is whether it’s pretentious for *women* to call themselves doctor.

And the debate is bull$**+.

Re: Trump calling for execution of Democratic legislators for the commercial saying that military personnel are not obliged to obey unlawful order.

The Dem ad actually *understated* the issue.

Not only is a soldier not obliged to obey an unlawful order, but they are actually *obliged* to disobey.

So far in the #ndpleadership, I have found:
* Heather McPherson uninspiring;
* Avi Lewis annoying;
* Tony McQuail baffling;
* Yves Engler* insufferable.

If I had to vote today, it’d be between Rob Ashton and Tanille Johnston for #1 and #2.

(Engler isn’t vetted yet because he’s been playing games.)

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

I have no issue with the focus of the next federal NDP campaign being affordability.

My concern is that for some in the Party, “focus on affordability” has become code for “let’s toss marginalized folk (and especially trans folk) under the bus.”

Mamdani shows us it doesn’t have to be either / or.
