Perpetually screaming now that the problems with our economy aren’t from OTHER nations, but the parasitic capitalist class WITHIN our nation.

Believing that your average Vietnamese or Chinese worker is getting wealthy immiserating American workers due to a trade deficit is ninth circle stupid
I mean, fine, give rich people free food too. Idc. Pay for their college and their healthcare while you’re at it.

If they had to eat the same food, go to the same schools, and wait at the same doctors as everyone else, things would probably change pretty quickly
If they manage to win the thing, Yamamoto should get mvp.
These two may not fill the hole in my heart left by losing my Kiki (the dog in my profile), but I have to admit I’m glad they’re here now to help.
I’ve never seen a country TRY to bait people into widespread unrest.

I get that they want to invoke martial law and the insurrection act, but imo they are overestimating their ability to control this kind of fire once they start it.

Idk maybe I’m wrong and 350m people will be easy to kettle.
in her defense, why would she?
point taken and apologies: "Normal people" was poor phrasing. I meant that, on average, the ACA is "better" than no ACA, but it is in no way "sufficient".

I am not a supporter of it over universal healthcare and think it was a betrayal of voters and a handout to insurance companies.
I’m a WFT fan.

Jalen is like Brady imo. He’s a better leader than his arrogant coach and is exactly as talented as he needs to be to win.

People put way too much stock on aesthetics and theoretical upside.
Not to mention that grocery stores rely on snap for some not insignificant portion of their revenue. So they’ll be either raising prices or laying people off to deal with that (or both, probably both).
My brother (adult, disabled) relies on snap. Now my mom and I will need to make up the difference, but she’s retired on a fixed income and grocery prices are already super high and climbing.

So this is a triple whammy for families that will cascade.

My disgust with these people is visceral.
I'm tired of people that have never received SNAP talking about a program they know nothing about. It's not as easy to get as they think it is. It has saved my family. We are not living an extravagant life because of SNAP but we do get to eat.
I love the ACA for what it does for normal people, but it also enabled insurance companies to continue to exist with these depraved practices.

Our economic system is beyond bandaid fixes.
I dislike the Dems as a party as much as anyone, but blaming them for the shutdown is delusional.
satire isn't dead, it's just no longer satire
It's not a "debunked lie" it's literally just gutter racism.
The next time I'm engaged in something that embarrassingly lasts 3 minutes, I'm going to say that, oopsie, looks like someone "had a katie porter moment."

Been thinking about this quote a lot since it became clear that the Republican Party was more interested in starving poor Americans than spending the available funds to make sure everyone has enough to eat.
Oh ya, I didn’t think YOU thought that, just surprised others did
thinking KMFDM is nazi shit boggles my mind.

(I don't know Rammstein's politics)
This is most of the concept of 'economies of scale' and is a pretty standard part of business operations. If you want a special order, you have to pay for it because it costs more at all of the steps along the way.

The alternative to them charging more is they "don't offer less common sizes."
They *do* cost less. Pricing tends to be done in a manner to simplify the general customer experience, so they "average" the cost for the most common sizes. For more boutique sizes, retailers may charge more because those are less common, use more labor, and consumer more materials.
These people aren't born stupid or divested or narcissistic: The American voter is curated to be that way. Our failures as an electorate are the consequences of our political system and its unbridled subservience to capital, not the cause of it.
FWIW I voted for Harris despite reservations because I understand how things work. At the same time, I'm not going to blame the median voter for being "narcissistic" because that doesn't solve anything and isn't distinguishable from the narcissistic self-indulgence that I'd be bemoaning in them.
A nation can't have 75+ years of lesser evil voting due to the post FDR re-capture of all levels of politics by moneyed interests, progressively tacking away from "good things can happen" toward "vote for this or else", without losing motivation and connection within the electorate.
That's like saying the cause of death was "blood loss" after someone was stabbed to death by their spouse.

This attitude and practice doesn't happen in a vacuum, but is the result of people feeling totally disconnected from elections beyond their appeal as a personality contest.
This narcissistic attitude that sees a vote as a curated extension of your personal brand or a version of a celebrity endorsement is going to be the death of this nation.
