Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Watching old Christmas Gone Fishing on bbc2, Bob's just given Paul a vinyl recording of his mum singing and it absolutely captures why records still sell. There's something extraordinary about it, a weird connection that you just wouldn't get with a cd or MP3.

Farage's memory being 'fluid' again.
Farage just said “I didn’t wear a mask last time and I won’t wear them this time. This is nonsense.”

Here he is, not only wearing a mask, but also getting vaccinated…

Tories never change: peddling the lie that people on welfare are living great lives. I filled in my sister's PIP renewal last week and it's full of questions like how does she socialise or go on holiday to which I wanted to write "she doesn't leave the fucking house! She's unwell every single day!"

Care Work is one of the hardest jobs, long hours and of course terrible pay.

Unless they are planning to pay £20+ an hour, they are going to be relying on migrants from now until robots takeover.

That is the reality.

I'm old enough to remember when Gordon Brown was forced to apologise to a woman for calling her a bigot.

The very least we should expect is that Nigel Farage apologises for being one.

then, the transphobes , feeling victorious at how many people they have made unhappy and despairing in the previous week, move on to anything else that has a spectrum and the possibility of more colours than they can conceive - such hateful people - they cannot understand anything that is not THEM

Farage the politician *is* Farage the schoolboy losing his shit over seeing the name ‘Patel’ on the school roll and telling black pupils to go back to Africa. There’s really no difference. Except now he wants (and may be bought) the power to deport those people.
It’s not the past. It’s now.

For clarity: Nothing against the "stars" of such shows. But for the last 30+ years, their opinions on everything from culture to science to economics have gained more column space and influence than those who actually know what they're talking about. No wonder the fascists embraced them so warmly!

But on the way plus side, I travel the UK the whole darn time , and I meet so many kind and caring people. I’m just not sure how the cruel and greedy have taken so much and now twist people with their carefully manipulated hatred - here is to the kind, you are many
So many political discussion shows basically saying the same things and failing to have the courage to challenge the status quo because they are the status quo and they rather like the houses they occupy
