Founders on LinkedIn still seem to be struggling with the difference between telling people about their humble beginnings and admitting to straight up committing fraud.

I'm a simple man. If I see a tweet complaining about how DC's Union Station doesn't have benches, I'll like it.

something i'll note is that if nuzzi ran catch-and-kill ops for rfk jr and lizza knew this prior to him being appointed as HHS, and instead of telling anyone, he decided to save it for his substack long after rfk jr had made communicable disease into federal policy, that's completely fucked

The best part of Part 2 is the reveal that Lizza asked Mark Sanford for lunch to use him as a source less than 24hrs after Olivia and Mark slept together, without knowing. Which forced Olivia to tell Mark that Ryan was her boyfriend and ask him to spike the meeting

Cracking back to we should all know less
Changed my mind we should all know more

salivating at this // fully aware I'd spend so much money so hoping it doesn't happen
genuinely think the USPS would make legitimate money selling serious merch via collabs with fashion brands

I'm also planning on not serving in Congress next year, but I'm not making a big deal out of it unlike some attention hogs.

Reporter to Trump: Would you feel comfortable living in NYC under a Mamdani mayoralty?

Trump: "I would. I really would. Especially after the meeting, absolutely."

It’s fucked up that my gps watch is trying to gamify yoga

“You got a badge for doing 25 minutes of yoga! Earn another by continuing your streak tomorrow!”

The Buddha would throw himself off a bridge if he knew about this

Did Ryan Lizza ever get his bamboo problem under control? Or is he saving that resolution for Part 2?

It’s disgusting that District Trivia is putting paid ads in its trivia questions.

Is nothing sacred?

The reason we have laws* against bribery is that companies will absolutely bribe politicians at the very first opportunity if it is good for the bottom line, because they see it as a sound business decision, not a civilizational betrayal.

Remember that Intuit (the owner of Turbotax) lobbied extensively to kill Direct File, which did tax filing for free and somehow managed to make a good and intuitive user experience without AI.
TurboTax is about to be integrated into ChatGPT, where customers will be guided through tasks tied to their tax filings or financial profile by the AI chatbot.

TurboTax owner Intuit is also paying OpenAI more than $100 million a year to power AI agents.

Imagine if a Democratic politician sat next to Charlie Kirk's killer and said this about him
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

KEEP SHARING YOUR STORIES about increased ACA premiums due to the disappearance of subsidies. The stories clearly are having an impact, they help people feel less helpless, and they create solidarity that leads to action.

Mine went from $395→ $821. What happened for you?

The filibuster is a major cause. You can campaign on crazy shit, and then the filibuster stops you from following through. Of course, eventually, the crazy leaks into real policy (see Trump II being much worse than Trump I) but there's a big leadup where voters don't believe you're actually crazy.
Republicans have become more and more insane over the course of my life and have paid ~zero political cost. If anything, they have accrued benefits
we're doing another round of "issue moderation has either no or negative effects on election outcomes" bsky I see

I think it's often easier to see in reverse

do you think that Republicans became more or less popular with voters when they publicly ditched hardline conservative opinions on medicare?

The best part of having an American Pope is that there's like a non-zero chance he knows about Nuzzi and Lizza and RFK and Sanford. Like he was active on US politics twitter from 2013-2025, he might!
