Once again it’s the time when I post the stack of books I designed which were published within this calendar year.
This was a year of many changes! Next year will look very different (full of manga lol), but as always I’m so grateful for every artists’ trust. I love making your books shine.

my comics advice is: show feet
it sounds like dumb online meme nonsense but it's not; every 2-3 pages make sure you draw your character so their feet show, it grounds them in the environment and forces you to vary your panel composition.

Went to a Literary Event on a whim and ppl were shocked I had business cards lol
everyone brings business cards to the comics events I go to but it just occurred to me Literary People have much less incentive to make nice business cards and bring them to things than artists who table at shows lmao

My experience as well. So far we're 2-for-2 on kids having a largely bullying/abuse-free middle school experience. Not without bumpy spots of course, but light years away from what I endured.
My hot take: the anti-bullying stuff has really worked, which is why conservatives are pushing back at it.

for what it’s worth I got roped into helping out with my sixth grader’s extracurricular thing so I’ve had more recent contact with middle schoolers who aren’t mine than I usually do, and biased sample/biased reviewer/etc but my verdict is that the kids are all right
