Former writer, current office person, chronic wife guy. Erratic set of interests barely likely to intersect with whatever you’d like me to post about. He/Him.
Thank god someone actually understands this. Happy ‘why don’t pizza hut sell phone chargers?’ day to everyone else.
Netflix is not a movie studio. Their business is not to help the theatrical business. Or hurt it, for that matter. They are a subscription business and that is a different calculation. Honestly, a lot of people complaining about Netflix don't understand how their business model works.

There was a wonderful phase in the Nordic noir boom where danish actors were being interviewed by the British press, bewildered at the weird adolescent questions they were being asked and just politely responded that they were adults, actually.
Star of Holocaust drama: …so, we had to justice to that story for the survivors.

Interviewer: Now obviously you filmed in the UK. We want you to taste these Greggs goodies and tell us which one your characters would like the most.

Star: *just sobs*

Interviewer: *dead-eyed, deaf-eared smile*
They should give an oscar to the first actor who says stop this to every interviewer who wants to make them eat something or does an impression of them or trauma dumps to make the entire process about them. Talk about the damn films, please.

I know so little about the Owl Service that for years i thought the title referred to an agency and not, as it apparently does, crockery.
It's got the scripts for the Owl Service!
The collection had been amassed over many years. It has original material from

Doctor Who (1963-1999) including radio, stage shows, unmade episodes and one-offs including Comic Relief.

As one of the sickos who really liked the Christmas one, I’m all in favour of this
There's apparently a new Dead Rising game in development, and it may be a direct sequel to the original Frank West game

Batman/Deadpool is a lovely slice of prime Morrison, really nicely drawn by Dan Mora too. Everything you need from that crossover in perfect balance

They got my ass (complimentary)
I hope Iain won’t be too embarrassed by me posting this, but this really was a fantastic episode.

If you’re not currently subscribed do give it a listen. Iain and Michael (and Kevin) really get into the nuts and bolts of what makes this novel work.

Excellent stuff!

Society is a construct. You can just ask someone to do a ska cover of Faith of the Heart and they'll say "$300 please" and you give it to them and then you have it.

Extra points to Michael for digging out Silver’s unnamed cameo in Miranda (art by Allan Bednar).
In which we remember what it was to be young and in love.

We are now further away from the theatrical release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) than it was from the year it takes place in (1936). We have reached the Indiana Jones event horizon.

I like to gaze deeply into my partner’s eyes until he’s sure I’m about to say something rocking. Softly, I begin to sing “It’s been a long time…”. He leaves the room.

The person who allowed region locking on social media would make millions in sub fees, but politically the tech industry will never take that money.
