Penn State Board of Trustees reconsidering a sale of WPSU that would allow public media to continue to serve the people of Central Pennsylvania based on the community's outpouring of support.

Here's hoping they honor the land-grant mission of the university to serve the people of the Commonwealth.

When the NYT wants to report and publish on private equity, I think the first calls they make are to their largest shareholders.

“We should replace Bad Bunny with Lee Greenwood” is an also a perfect summation of the “deal” they’ve offered universities.
Et tu, New York Times?

But sure let’s give a platform to the head of a global private equity firm working to undermine democratic institutions—including the news media—working to hold them accountable.

Nothing since this Deadspin piece has more succinctly captured the threat posed by corporate media owners like Sinclair enabled by a lapdog FCC.

And then private equity gutted Deadspin, too.

I'm just an ordinary First Amendment lawyer but I'm pretty sure you can't transform "protesting the president" into criminal activity by recharacterizing it as "inflicting harm on the United States."
Deputy AG Blanche: RICO is available to all kinds of organizations committing crimes and committing wrongful acts… So is it sheer happenstance that individuals show up at a restaurant where the president is trying to enjoy dinner and accost him with vile words?

When you publish a website that posts the names and photos of scholars who have written or said things you disagree with and encourage people to surveil and harass them, you are not, in fact, a “free speech” organization.
It is quite simply dishonest to describe TPUSA as a “free speech” organization and not even mention the “Professor Watchlist,” as NPR just did. Reporting on a crime does not entail adopting the victim’s views.

A colleague on campus today asked me why I’d forgo office w/a window & I reminded her I get active & credible death threats. When I ended up on the Turning Point professor list I got them for a month. We have got to raise better humans & change our gun laws.

If I have any credibility with you from 20 years of reporting on rightwing & fascist movements, please listen when I beg you not to celebrate Charlie Kirk getting shot. Leave aside morality: this isn’t a match in dry grass, it’s a torch. We do not want what this could ignite & we would not win.
