My last two birthday books arrived after almost two months! I've read good words about Alison Rumfitt's haunted house horror that reflects organized transphobia. And a book that references "Stone Butch Blues" also talks about being a queer person that doesn't fit into specific box. #Booksky

I made these two days ago. A poster image of weekend family breakfasts in Chile, this delicious bread is called simply Pan Amasado, or "kneaded bread", the same way all indigenous people throughout the world have called themselves "the people". Recipe in ALT.

Pan Amasado, or Chilean Kneaded Bread.

800 gr flour
1 Tbs yeast + 1 tsp sugar.
~ 40 gr lard or oil (4-5 Tbs).
~ 2 cups warm water, total, including dissolving yeast and sugar.
~ 1.5 to 2 tsp salt, depending on personal tastes

Dissolve yeast and sugar in 1 cup water and rest 10 min. Mix all ingredients (dissolve salt in the rest of the water), knead well and rest for 40 min. Make flat circles (12-14) and rest for 20-30 min, pinching them three times with a fork. Bake at 350° F for 20 min, then broil for 2-3 min if a toasted color is desired.
