Quick search says US population (2024) is about 340.1 million - 3.5 % is about 12 million. 7 million actually turned up in the streets on Saturday, many more driving by support, many of others could't be at a rally... but like Elizabeth says, it takes *ongoing engagement*...
I feel like this lesson we are learning (or should be) in POLITICS is in part, from the "bigger picture", here to show us to SEE and ACCEPT THIS TRUTH in our **personal lives** as well.
One key thing that we all should be remembering right now is that disordered personalities DO NOT CHANGE.

I feel like this lesson we are learning (or should be) in POLITICS is in part, from the "bigger picture", here to show us to SEE and ACCEPT THIS TRUTH in our **personal lives** as well.
I hate these people.
Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.

Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

I have seen many posts like this around <3 Some restaurants in my area of FL are offering meals to anyone asking for their "shutdown special". So good to see the GOOD FOLKS (and businesses) out there! (yep, those I saw were all LOCAL (vs corporate chain) restaurants)

This is good, but when people talk about this I want to emphasize: we have not run out of money for SNAP. The money is there, it has been allotted and saved specifically for this instance. Trump refuses to release the billions of dollars that Americans have already allotted to continue food stamps!
