(1/3)Now they’re xenomorph knockoffs—missing both Trek’s message & what the xenomorph in Alien represented (exploitation, both corporate & sexual). It's nostalgia without meaning. Change, updating stuff, and not being beholden to canon is fine, but context gives depth & meaning. (2/3) Also -- most importantly - the guy in the gorn rubber suit WAS cool! More and more people reporting today that Stripe - the payment processor that Itch said were putting the most pressure on them - now have staff actively confirming that yes, they are censoring LGBT content, adult or otherwise. That this is official company policy.

This seems kinda significant.
