On Mastermind the host was like "a bad way to start is to come barging in saying WHERE IS IT" but he said it in such a strangled way that it reminded me of how my old youtube account started:

Maybe I'll watch "Apocalypse Now" to take my mind off things.
Autotheories primal scene (I read that not I write this) ... You are yourself and another in that moment.
Anyway. I don't know how or when not to be defensive.

Let's try this on: it's a genuine and predictable problem that needed to be solved that was dual purposed.

Hey, y'know how I just wrote about 16,000 words worth of material covering the state legislative elections going down tomorrow?

Yeah, let's just say that wasn't enough to cover all the local elections also going down tomorrow. I'll let y'all figure out what that means in about a few hours.

k, as y'all know, tomorrow is the official drop date for _smoke & mirrors_!

i couldn't have written that one alone, so over the next 2-3 days, i'll post about the work that helped shape it. heads up that i won't get to all - or many, even. but it matters to me to acknowledge collaboration here. 1/
There is so much more day in the day when I can opt to do 2 hours before 9am and 2 hours after dinner.
Which is pretty huge. We're told that you can't know people's intentions in my field, but if you can manipulate someone to say something, it means you can know someone's intentions in a reproducible way.
One of the big shoulds of lit crit is whether you should preference what someone wanted to (be seen to) say (without trying to define their intentions) or the message from the power that is working through them, like the discourse/positionality, or the unconscious or the neoliberal.
When the GOP dismisses SNAP recipients by telling them to 'just get jobs,' they ignore that 70% of those individuals are already
employed full-time.
Is that what's happening when the word "constitutes" changes the appearance of who is speaking as the "we" and the "us" in the post above?
So my research looks into refusal, how do we turn away from a system that actually partly constitutes us? Perhaps one on which we are partly dependent.
But even when it's not clear to me that I'm being racist or misogynist or ableist or homophobic, what the "disappearance of the subject" means is that the matrix of oppressions, all the isms they raise one group above another, actually moves through me independent of my awareness and intentions.
A binary like left and right is ripe to be negated the next day.
Who you talking to? The people who don't know about elicitation?
