It seems like we have lots of new users. Welcome! I post mostly #photography, and most of that is #Macro of buggies/ #spiders/ #nature, but also #cats, #skies, and random things. Other things get posted too, science, #art, #games, #random thoughts and occasional #silliness.

I've seen so many fly agaric mushrooms in the last couple of weeks - such a thrill seeing that flash of colour. The top of this one was all curled which made an interesting shape - love seeing the gills too.

Now that you mention it... One of my cat's purr has a high pitch component that almost sounds like a feline version of throat singing. I wish this was the weirdest sound they make, but noooooo.. One will wander through the house at 3 am making what sounds like a very human "hello" sound 😮

I've noticed the more I do this type of singing, it tends to deepen my voice. I also notice that I seem to hit the resonances easier in the mornings (the throat wears out over the day?)

Also interesting how some of it feels easier than regular speech. Maybe the practice will give you some vocal flexibility back over time?

I am watching Alex Glenfields videos on it ( www.youtube.com/@Glenfuch/vi... ) He gives some interesting tutorials on the different styles which I find very educational. My singing voice never really recovered from puberty (a whole nother subject) but I find hitting some of the tones and throat..
