The ICAO is who you need to lobby if you want to remove gender from all passports altogether, which is why American trans activists have largely focused on the ability to update/change your gender marker
In somewhat good news, today the state department website has changed the answer to this question to defer to ICAO policy. Sources still tell me that there is some appetite for invalidation/reversion of passports issued under the injunction, but this message will be welcome to many trans people.

shitpost aside i really hope this doesnt turn out to be what happens but between the wage stagnation, cost of living increases, and incredible wealth consolidation combined with the absolute state of "ai" (which is so grossly inflated when it pops will drag down so many other things) idk anymore
