Major evolution in the GZDoom community tonight - the regular contributors finally had enough of the project lead, who had been very hard to work with for a long time. He dug in and told them "If you don't like it, go and make your own fork."

I'm still happy that my routes seem to work quite well, even with a fair number of mistakes. with 5/2, a good murasa would have exited with 4/2, and as long as I'm bringing 2/2 to stage 6 I can comfortably clear byak. so I definitely think I'm closer to the clear than I originally thought

SS2 *is* a game that is rough around some edges like quake 2, and nightdive's quake 2 changes absolutely oozed with quality and love, so it definitely was a big dissapointment

that, and the existing mods for SS2 basically make the nightdive remaster obsolete

it's a real shame that system shock 2's nightdive remaster is very lackluster compared to their quake 2 remaster - they mostly just upped the graphics, which you could've already done w/ mods, and didn't add any of the balancing/enhancements that made the quake 2 remaster so incredibly good
