I can't help but remember that "it" is also the word used by the man who murdered poor Brianna Ghey in a transphobic attack.

These people don't have "reasonable concerns" - they are revolting bigots.

This is what happens with hospitals in Wales offering free parking. Its mayhem all the time - this hospital is surrounded with huge car parks which are always full. The Royal Gwent in Newport centre is the same: queued out to the road at all times.

Once had a friend pick us up coming home from holiday in her SUV. Could not get our 3 suitcases into its boot.
The same 3 suitcases that had previously just about fit OK into my Fiesta's boot.

SUVs are only good at hogging public space. Nothing else.
Have successfully transported a full height fridge freezer in a two door ford fiesta.

But also there's this weird myth that SUVs are big on the inside just because they're big on the outside. They're not. Almost no SUVs can take three kids car seats across the back, for example.
As someone who has crammed an entire PA into the back of a Kia Ceed, I’m not sure this justifies an SUV either, tbh

By all means, lets continue with the outrage over people receiving a few extra quid for their kids from next year, or people waiting on asylum decisions being forced to take taxis for long trips.
But think of all the astonishing things he's selflessly done for this country and look at all those medals which he won during his four months in the Royal Marines.
The King’s brother, Prince Edward, enjoys his Surrey mansion at a peppercorn rent, it can be revealed, after The Times forced the disclosure of documents held by the Crown Estate.

Aideen’s story has sparked an overwhelming response, showing the real impact that pavement parking has on people’s daily lives across the UK.

This is why we are campaigning to end pavement parking.

Among other topics, we discuss the sale of children in care.
They're worth roughly £100k each. The profit you can extract by sending them across the country to the cheapest housing in derelict places, cutting them off from all hope and contact, is off the scale. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xx6...

My hot take on this is that all light should be permanently set to red for all vehicles and green for pedestrians.
If a driver wants to go through, they have to get put, push a button and sit and wait until all pedestrians are out the way and the lights change to green for them 😆
If we're not going to change vehicles, there's an easy solution for this problem: Red lights for all vehicles when pedestrians have a Walk signal. They do this in London.
No vehicle should be moving through an intersection when pedestrians are crossing.

Where are all the people who scream "but what about disabled people?!" when we talk about active travel infrastructure, safe cycle routes etc????
Pavement parking impacts everyone and is a major barrier to walking and wheeling local journeys.

The result of the national pavement parking consultation is long overdue and we cannot afford to wait, so want to see marked bays and measures on a street-by-street basis.

Nice to see common sense prevailing in Caerphilly: an acknowledgement that 'free parking' isn't free, as well as a reliance on the stats (COVID free parking caused problems rather than solving them) rather than 'feelings'.

1000 fewer killed/injured in 2yrs. Its a shame its impossible to prove a negative: if we were able to point at someone and say "you... you would have been 1 of those 1000 who would be dead by now", or "1 of your 3 children wouldn't be here for Xmas this year", the seriousness might be appreciated?
On today's World Day of Remembrance for Road Victims it is worth noting that in the two years since Wales implemented a national default 20mph (32km/h) there have been 25% fewer casualties on such roads with over 1,000 fewer people killed or injured. youtu.be/efr3uVKpOwY

My unpopular opinion: those of us advocating for non-car travel need to stop apologetically saying "I know not everybody can cycle!" Obviously not everyone can cycle, but that's also true of driving. I fear we're just giving our opponents' attack lines legitimacy by shouting them out for free

I ALWAYS lock my bike with a D lock.
The ONE TIME I have forgotten to also use the wheel lock, and some absolute prick has had a real go at it, and bent the key. This is it after 10 mins of gently trying to straighten it.
