I think about this nearly every day. We saw a better world, in many ways, and then threw it in the trash because money.
It's why I loved NK Jemisin's award-winning novella, Emergency Skin (2019) - it'll ruin the story if I tell you why.

I had the most incredible convo with one of my students yesterday evening (he is a high school history teacher) and those individual moments of hope shine very brightly in the darkness of US decline.
He's seen huge engagement among his students by organizing history content around themes +
