@schumer.senate.gov Sorry, Chuck, but you suck at your job. Time to retire and let someone with a spine lead.

@schiff.senate.gov Are Democrats so ignorant of the last 20 years to believe the Republicans can be trusted? #nodeal

If only Walmart had a social media presence here.
Dear Walmart,

Consideeing you have more employees on SNAP than any other company — instead of simply having a ‘cheaper’ Thanksgiving bundle, how about giving your underpaid employees who must rely on SNAP for survival, one for free? It’s the least you can do. And I stress, the LEAST…

A few tips for those thinking of submitting:

1. If you use "was" as a verb multiple times on a page, I'll probably pass.
2. If you write in the present tense, I'll probably pass.
3. If you write in the first person POV, but for a different character each chapter, I'll probably pass.

San Diego is going to start charging for residential trash pickup. Been here almost 20 years and this is new. So they will spend what I assume is millions to replace EVERY SINGLE TRASH and RECYCLING can in the city. This feels horribly wasteful. Every can already has a "serial number." 1/2

My wife urged me to watch the new season of Nobody Wants This on @netflix.com. I disliked the season one for its pro-assimilation theme and caricatures of Jewish women. This is largely absent in the second season, though I can't say I loved it. The ending is very pro-Jewish, though, which was nice.

SNAP benefits will be gone, small businesses will suffer, insurance premiums will double, air traffic will be delayed/halted: All of these things are happening because when the gov't shutdown ends, the Epstein Files get released.

Obviously this isn’t the US, but I have always thought cons were a terrible way to try and sell books. Put that money into advertising that takes the user straight to order the POD and only pay for printing copies that sell.
Incidentally this is why it's so devastating when a convention fucks up dealer table placement / layout, doesn't advertise or promote the existence or whereabouts of the attending indie creators, etc.

We're on shoestring budgets, and failing to break even can ruin us.
So many of us can only afford to do conventions because we know someone nearby who will let us crash on their couch, or we're banding together to break up the cost of a rental apartment / hotel room.

I've never worked so hard in my life to stand absolutely still.

it's time for journos to start asking Johnson meta questions

"Speaker, on 5 occasions last week you said 'I haven't seen it' when asked about news events w/big implications for public policy. Do you ever read the news, and do you agree it's problematic for the Speaker to be so woefully uninformed?"

Still working my way through episodes of The Orville. ***Spoiler*** Finished the one where Topa gets changed back and thought it was Emmy-worthy TV. So well done.

Leaked GOP group chats are showing us what we all knew: Republicans have a racism problem. It’s unlikely that they see it that way, however. The hatred we saw in recently leaked texts between young Republicans is representative of a party that has fostered white supremacy and racism for generations.

Independents blame Trump and the GOP for the shutdown by a 2:1 margin.

Trump’s approval with people under 30 has completely cratered.

63% of Americans disapprove of Trump’s management of the federal government.

I wish voters would stop making decisions based on tribalism and emotion. I get the appeal of Mamdani to some, but the guy has zero experience and he’s put fear into the heart of many Jewish New Yorkers. This isn’t a game to own the Republicans. It’s a massive city with real problems.

If you make 130% of the federal poverty level, you qualify for SNAP.

A family of four, making $40,560, qualifies for SNAP benefits meaning thousands of Missouri teachers qualify.

I’m tired of the bullshit. Most of the people who receive snap benefits work.
