“Be Not Afraid."

On the path with no end in sight;
A tree here and there
Like signposts
Along the way.
No need to assume the chasm ahead
Is a gaping maw
That needs a sacrifice;
It holds only air
And the memory
Of its creation.

“Nolite Timere."

I fear that I will die without accomplishing anything.

What I need to remember is I don't have to, say, publish a book to accomplish something. I accomplish a little something every time I make you think or even laugh.

Humans have the potential to be endlessly clever and work hard. Then they go and elect cruel weirdos, who have more wealth than they know what to do with, to dominate them and put them in harms way.

There’s no accounting for stupid.
“That the human race is improving; that we have things to be proud of as humans. No, ancient astronauts did not build the pyramids — human beings built them, because they’re clever and they work hard. And Star Trek is about those things.”

Hoomom here. This photo of Kayla was posted yesterday shortly after she ate tree flocking. She's fine. Vomited it up. We found it funny but shame on us. Per Google-"Tree flocking is bad for cats because it can be toxic if ingested & cause intestinal blocks". Just beware. Flock is a no no 🩷

Buy a book.

Any book, it doesn't matter which. The one you've been looking forward to, the one with the title that made you laugh, the weighty award-winner you've been meaning to get to. Whatever.

Treat yourself. Step away from it all. In this time of gross ignorance & madness, read something.

I had the privilege of acting in and years later directing Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia (amateur theatre). At the end of each performance we all felt more enlightened; more intelligent. He was a natural teacher and eternal student. Bless him. They’re bringing Arcadia to the Old Vic next year.
I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.

Hydro Quebec has always been poorly managed.
It steamrolled it's agenda for years to reap huge profits while ignoring enviromental issues, indigenous concerns, preventative maintenance & system upgrades in rural areas. I know, I live in the province.

Trump granted asylum to the suspect. Most importantly, Trump and MAGA governors who comply with the president’s whims and who send national guardsmen around the country wily-nily for tasks they are not trained to perform are responsible for their safety.

Two months ago I wrote about why my law firm is litigating 63 voting and election cases. Today it is 65 cases covering more than half the country. Eleven of them involve redistricting.

Where are the big law firms? Why isn't legacy media covering this? www.democracydocket.com/opinion/why-...
